I don't have a .17 rem, but do have a rem700 LH sps varmint in .17 fireball. My go to load is 20gr IMR 8208XBR and a .20gr Nosler Varmageddon. Consistently hitting 4050fps. I shot one beaver and it dropped instantly abd many, many gophers. Fingers crossed I will finally land a coyote with it this fall. I have a load worked for .25gr Hornady HP and they're going at 3850 fps. The only downside to the fireball is that it is nearly impossible to fimd brass and if you do, you pay a stupid mount for it. I have a buddy who's while family has a hard on for .17s. They all own .17 mach2, .17 hmr, .17 hornets, .17 fireballs and .17 rem. Their "go to" calling guns are CZ527 Varmints in .17 rem. I cant remember their exact load but it's a .25 gr hornady HP at around 4000fps. They consistently drop coyotes out to 250 yards with little to no fur damage.
