Why arent more rifles chambered in 7.62x39?
This makes a lot of sense for those of us who enjoy having one of everything and in every caliber, but most hunters are not. Most have a generic collection of one-size-fits-all hunting rifle,shotgun, and .22cal. Many of these boys are the .303 and 30.06 generation, shot these rifles as boys, and still have them now.
25 years ago Norinco sold a crap load of rifles and marketed them as Farmer's gun, handy rifles, and truck guns. They were made for consumer SKS. The biggest problem is that the bullet is too light. Sure it can take down a deer, but not enough energy for bigger animals. THe frame of mind is: just like a truck, get one that can do everything you need.
