Give the guy a break!
Tod confided in me last week about his inner struggles, and I wasn't supposed to tell anyone, but here goes...
Since he was a boy he's felt a strong maternal urge, playing with dolls, dressing up kittens and pushing them around in a carriage.
Through his early teens he excelled as one of Vanderhoof's top babysitters (top of his class on a weekend baby sitting course when he was 11 yrs old).
He has always known he was different than the other boys, but had trouble expressing himself in a redneck town full of loggers and hillbillies.
As society became increasingly acceptant to those that were "different", Tod realized that there was no denying what had to be done...
With Gatehouse as a strong pillar of support and encouragement, and all of Canada's male nurses
as an inspiration, Tod has decided to have his surgery.... his trasnformation, and on May 18, 2007, he will finally take the leap of faith.
He has enrolled in Nursing school for the fall of 2007, and as he comes out of anethestic, his wish is to have a laptop handy, and log on for the first time with his new user name on CGN...
GRACE BARTELL
So give the guy some slack, his medical only covers 85% of it, so he is selling off some of his Mod 700's to cover some of the costs.
We are holding a benefit dance this Saturday to raise money to cover the rest (hopefully) of his (her) 15%.
The theme will be 70's, and we've a great band lined up for the dance - Urethra (A Barry Manilow tribute band). They wear pink spandex jumpsuits, and have a great pyrotechnic show!
Tod/Grace can use your encouragement and support right now, and certainly in the months to come as the hormone pills begin to take effect.
Tod/Grace.... we wish you the best!
