Why can I find so few details about the Adler Arms/Eagle RS-Q1/RSQ1, Non restricted?

It seems like details are pretty slim on these. There's one on the equipment exchange, and I just found out about them through that. The website seems to hardly have any details, though they are in stock in several places. Are these new? They seem to be of decent construction, and they look INCREDIBLE compared to other MSR offerings (lookin at you, ar-180b platform).

Here is the link to a youtube video:

Are these new and have just managed to escape the hype? How have I not heard about this? People should be shouting from the rooftops that an actually decent looking .223 has managed to make it to market LOL!

Not to be a naysayer, but as it appears to be based on the Macabee guns, I’d say it’s a risky purchase from a relatively unheard of company that is at risk of being immediately prohibited as a variant of the SLR.

If you understand what you’re getting into, buy away.

Make a deal while you can.

Pay cash.

Go on a canoe trip. But hurry, the lakes are freezing over fast.

From the comment section of this youtube video;

"This is the RSQ1 Eagle Semi Auto Non Restricted .223 Wylde rifle.
This is NOT AN AR-15 but is a completely proprietary design.
It is overbuilt beyond “Mil Spec” standards.
The upper and lower receiver are made of aircraft grade 7075 T6511 Aluminum and are designed in such a way that it is impossible to drop in an auto sear and make it fully automatic.
It has a threaded 20” match grade competition barrel with rifle length gas system and buffer tube.
The only things that interchange with the AR-15 are the magazines, grips, and stocks.
This thing is an absolute predator slayer."

It doesn't even take AR15 parts so it's clearly not an AR15 variant. Seems to fall under the non restricted category by every letter of the law. I'm interested...

Never heard about it before, interesting rifle, seems to be retailing just over 3K.

Did a quick search, sadly I couldn't find more infos on the internals and proprietary design.

Saw one at the LGS. They told me it was made by Colt Canada. I have not been able to find any info to confirm or refute that claim. Was less than the one on EE, but still, it is a fair chunk of $$ for something that has little to no info available.

From the look of it, I'd be very leery. It sure looks like a Macabee product, based on the geometry of the Mag Well opening. What's up with the non-functional (eg. solid) Forward Assist Housing? How are the Upper and Lower Receivers secured to one another? And if the only parts commonality with the AR is the Grip, Magazines and Buttstock, then that Bolt Carrier Group must have proprietary dimensions which preclude it functioning in an AR15, right? It sure looks like a bone-stock BCG, but perhaps not. Then there is the Trigger Mechanism. If that is truly proprietary, then upgrade is impossible. I'd like to get my hands on one for a close examination, but that is the extent of my interest. I won't be spending any of my hard-earned cash on one.

Wanstalls used to carry the rifle. There is an individual on facebook that posted the same rifle. He says hes the 'dealer' but no company name behind him. Not that im aware of.

If the gun is selling for more than $3000;

I would certainly hope it didn't need any upgrades.

I don't think it's Colt Canada, it's the Colt Canada store located out in the Fraser Valley; not Diemaco. They have a billboard on the highway.

Hical (Mission BC) have it listed on their page too, but sold out. Looks like there's posts on various sites about this rifle, but not much info beyond "It's suuuppeer duper amazing".

Looks like someone took the maccabee idea (and perhaps with consent, perhaps not) made some changes. Kind of like Sterling vs ATRS.

Part of the issue for me is that there is virtually zero information out there on this rifle. Why is it such a big secret? Where would you get parts if you ever needed them? Adler Arms seems to be a Turkish company. That's a lot of money when there are so many questions.

I see, I was wondering what he meant by Colt Canada - I assumed he was talking about Diemaco, which didn't make sense.

Tell that to the Derya Mk 12, or Typhoon owners.

Those are good examples.

But nothing beats the Mossberg 715T for the grand prize in the "variant" contest.

Yes folks. The RCMP has deemed this rifle to be an AR-15 variant.
