for the past 130 years or so my family has farmed in the Souris Valley south of Oxbow. it's excellent country for both whitetail and muleys, i've regularly seen 140+ class deer of both species. my uncle used to regularly count at times over a hundred in the farm yard bedding with the cattle. and back in the 70's the local game club stocked the area with pheasants that have flourished, and the place has never really been hunted. but that game area is closed to anyone who isn't a Saskatchewan resident. any way to find out why this is? it certainly isn't a lack of deer. and the residents season is only open for a week. is there any hope of this changing? i'd love to hunt the family farm.
