Why Do Some Semi's Not Like Hollow Point Ammo?

Well - you need to improve your understanding of shipping ammo... And, you cannot return ammo to a retailer. Heres a crazy idea. Each rifle is unique in its ability to digest, and shoot accurately, factory made ammo.
1) Go to your closest big box store.
2)Buy one box (50) of various types of 22 ammo, including different brands and bullet weights.
3)Go out and shoot it from a benchrest at ~ 20 yards.
Guaranteed you will discover one or two types that work the best in your rifle. Then go out and load up on those particular types. No amount of internet bandwith will get you to this plateau of knowledge.

Yellow Jackets are the only ones I've ever had issue with. Shape of the projectile is funky, also a bit hotter than a lot of .22

These things are horrid in semi's in my experience.
I didn't even question it. Just look at them. Completely understood. Simply shot mine through revolvers instead.
^^^ I have had these above and they never caused a problem in my 10/22. If I keep the gun clean (good cleaning every 2000-3000 rounds) and keep the mags clean, I find no problems with any ammo in it. It al depends on the gun and ammo IMO. I bought 10 different types of ammo, shot them all, found out the 10/22 really liked the Win Power Points, then bought 6000 rounds.
That right there is one of the best things about .22... If I tried to buy 10-15 different types of ammo, just for testing, in my center-fires, just to figure out which ammo to really invest in, I'd go broke.
But doing it with a .22, and then once you know, getting 5-10K rds just so you know you'll have it on hand? Totally do-able.
Errrrrh! Super-X is 40 grain HP at 1435 fps. "333" is the number of rounds in the box firstly, 36 grain HP at 1280 fps. "222" "333" and "555" mean nothing more than the number of rounds in the box it is all the same value pack ammo.
Only ones I've had repeat issues with are the Yellow Jacket 33GR. (Use them in the bolt gun now.) Buddy bought us some ammo and didn't see the grain wasn't 36GR or 40GR. I find the old boxes I had from 20 years ago are better quality, 50 boxes are better than bulk, and no two rifles are the same.
I have seen a tool that lets you reshape or make HP out of round nose rimfire rounds but have never looked into it. I think it's more gimmick than practical but wondered if it would be a good fix for lose/damaged rounds and tighten them up.
These days finding quantity of any 22LR can be hit or miss. The last batch I grabbed was M-22, just after the double powder loads got pulled, and they seem okay so far, but some have flats on the sides or tip randomly.
