Can someone explain to me why a gun like this doesn't exist?
Essentially a Glock (as per this example), with a long barrel (18 inches say), a stock, and a charging handle similar to a Ruger 10/22 on the side.
Thus removing the massive weight of the bolt head and bolt, and instead using what Glock already has to fire a round.
Also, if you own a Kel-tec Sub2k then you know how much force is needed to bring back the operating handle in order to compress the recoil spring. If you use the mechanism a Glock pistol has and just extend a handle off the slide, surely that would work fine and would be significantly more ergonomic, and weigh significantly less.
