Taken from a post I put up in an earlier thread...
Not three full months into this newly elected board and I have seen:
1) A Club Rep meeting (1st one in over 15 years);
2) A President / Section Coordinator taking a more active roll in our Provincials;
3) Aggressively addressing a new classification system;
4) Addressing the fact that the AGM should not be held at our Provincials (not the right place to be mixing our provincials with a meeting of, let's face it, the politics of our organization);
5) Incorporating and our constitution being dealt with by the services of a lawyer;
... I could keep going.... (And I will)
6) Financially stable;
7) Working on a IPSC Ontario membership forum
Broken? Fix what? PROGRESS
1: Yes, a good meeting. I was there, got to give her this one. At least everyone had a chance to meet.
2: But at what cost? Do you remember the letters sent out? (my letter posted here)
Active to a point of almost not having a Provincials. I resigned over it.
3: When will it be in place? Does the membership know about it? It seems to be the same one made last year by another group. (which I was part of)
4: Discussed in past years, lets see if it indeed does happen.
5: Conflict of interest here.
She is using her lawyer. Not a very good practice. How is the membership involved? Are they being consulted or is she even asking the membership if one of us is a lawyer?
6: Possibly, But cannot really tell, the Financials are not audited. IPSC Ontario is not a Corporation. The financials posted are not valid as far as I am concerned. (My Opinion) So I cannot tell if we do have money or how it is spent.
7: Untill then he forum here is good enough it seems. At least there is a discussion going on.
If this is progress, well you can keep it.
Has IPSC Ontario ever run better?
I would have to say yes, but it is too early to tell. I hope she can fix it.
We have always had issues but not so many in so little time.
I do have an ax to grind. All this is my opinion and I hope that I am proven wrong.
