Why Dr Dave Resigned

why wouldn't you have your AGM at your Provincials? it makes sense to me. it's the only time you're going to get a strong representative gathering of members isn't it?

The problem is that the match is held over 4-5 days, not everyone can make it out twice in a week with work and family obligations right in the middle of summer. Usually the only people that really show up are the people that happen to be shooting on the day of the AGM. Not everyone wants to drive 2 or more hours to shoot a match then do the same drive again a few days later for the AGM and then face the same drive back home. That is also assuming he match is held somewhere in the middle of the province. It could be more for some depending on the location, i.e. Ottawa or Kingston. Looking at it that way you aren't likely to get a strong showing. We have what 1100 members? Lets say 250 shoot the match, and we are lucky to get 30 people to show up? Not really good numbers if you ask me.

You could say that if you aren't willing to put in the effort then you deserve what you get. That is B.S., remember this is a hobby for most, not the be all and end all in their lives.

Not sure where this thread is heading...but discussion of any kind is good
P|S
I have resigned from the board and nothing else-once I have taken a little time to regroup I will return to my teaching and officiating and shooting with a vigour.
