Why I love my Glock (not why my gun is better than yours)

LOL We got the break in period idea from Kimber.

My glocks will always be my go to guns.

Thanks for all the great input/feedback guys. I encourage you, if you love another gun, to write your own list. Perhaps it might get a Glock lover to consider your gun :)

I bought my Glock 17 gen 4 within 5 minutes of picking one up at the gun shop. It just fit my hand and screamed buy me. I don't usually impulse buy when were talking hundreds of dollars but that gun had to come home with me. I had fired an older generation glock a few week before at the range after another member and I swapped out pistols for a few rounds. I was hooked after a couple magazines. Pointed well and shot nice combat size groups. I own numerous Beretta's, CZ's, Ruger's but my go to gun, will remain my Glock 17 for all of the reasons listed. Its not as pretty perhaps as some of my other pistols but its the one I feel most up to the challenge should times of adversity ever occur.

Nicely written post, good read.

Interesting points, the funny part is that I purchased my S&W M&P for almost those exact reasons.... Just the lack of customizability for it.

I really like the striker fire pistols. I've fired a bunch of various pistols, but Glocks and M&Ps are my fave. Simple and easy to use, no decockers and things to push to make it go, or make safe.

Great post by the OP. My glock is my favourite gun to shoot out of my small collection. It has been absolutely reliable, despite 3-4 stove pipes when my friends were shooting it, but that was attributed to them not holding the gun properly and limp wristing like little girls.

I love my Glocks. They're the guns I shoot the best. However, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend a Sig p226 or Cz 75b.
Glocks are more simple, and can take a beating.
If the world was ending, I'd reach for one of my Glocks...but not sure whether it'd be my 9mm Glock or my .45.:)

I was thinking about something similar the other day. Since we're limited to 10rnd mags in Canada(and thats what I have) I'd go with my G21...10rnds of .45 stopping power. Would make a great night table defense weapon.

I just took possession of my "new to me" Gen4 Glock 17 after selling my G34 Gen4 that I also loved so dearly. This baby puts them in the bull when I do my part! It's my go-to training and CQB pistol. For sunny days at my home range, I break out the STI Spartan 9mm single stack.... but for the zombies; the G17 gets the nod on my MOLLE Vest! :D

Cheers and enjoy the Glock addiction. Now I just gotta add my own 3.5 # connector when it arrives here from Brownells....
