I am new to shooting in Ontario but have been shooting IPSC out west for over five years now and have never run into issues I have seen here. At every match I have attended in Ontario, I have run into someone else's dirty laundry.

He won't shoot with him...
you can't stay on this range...
I won't pick up brass or patch targets when he shoots
I don’t want to be squadded with him
did you hear what he did last match?

Heaven forbid we use a little bit of common sense!

lol actually I dunno..So far after several matches the people I have met are pretty nice and friendly?

lol the best thing to do is make decent friends with a large group of people and maybe just shoot with them?

The vast majority of the members are great people...but like any sport there are always a few that take it too far...

Just avoid the politics...

Don't let other peoples behaviour spoil your good time. Try to treat every squad as an opportunity to make some new friends. Sure, some will turn out to be turds, but that's life.

Best thing to do is rise above it.

While there are politics and there are those who whine, complain and expect concessions, there are many others who will help out, patch, drive with you, lend advice, help with gun problems and even lend parts, ammo or whole guns. I have met more people like that than I have the others.;)

Some of those who complain about others may have had a rough ride and may have been treated unfairly somewhere that they shouldn't have been (Or they brought it on themselves:( )

If you meet someone like that, maybe point out a couple of the good points and have a couple of laughs with them. It works for me!

Be part of the solution!:)

True tritium, there are lots of great guys in the game, it seemed to me that the ass----'s outweighed them though. To bad.

I got out.

I am out west, too. Sadly, I have seen politics rear it's ugly head out here, with similar if not worse stories and accusations. If you didn't see it, you were lucky.

I try to avoid the politics as much as possible. As soon as the politics become more of a headache than the fun of shooting, I'll quit.

Well at least you live up to your sig line.

Surely a 'Shot' disturber.

I think I've seen this guy. As your shots fly downrange he shouts "go to the C, go to the C!"

Last time I shot I swear he shouted 'get the white one!' on pretty much every stage.
;)

lol theres somebody ignorant enough to shout out and try and ruin your shooting while your doing it?

Yes, Earl is a S*** disturber but he's our S*** disturber

Yes there is politics in IPSC; you see it in Ontario because we have a large number of competitors of which a fair chunk shoots a great deal of matches. We have approximately 900+ members over the year. We have new people join and some leave but the number has remained more or less the same. Of those 900 member you will see one or two hundred of names that appears at most of the matches so the regulars tend to cross paths fairly often.

When this happens you get into the group dynamics. Some people rub some the wrong way, some think their better than others. Some are in “clicks” (Open only, Production only, drive certain cars, etc) some are mad because someone said something mean to them 5 years ago. In other word it pretty much like any other place (or large family) in the world.

Oh and if your wondering yes I guilty of it to since I can’t stand people who won’t patch or reset steel on my squad. I’ve shot with an 80+ year old competitor who we try to keep from rushing down to help and had a 20 year old (who figured he was going to be the next world champion) who sat on his a** for an entire match on the same squad. Guess which one I won’t shoot with anymore….

Don’t worry about the politics, just shoot and have fun. The best way to enjoy the game is to get a bunch of shooting buddies to go with, then you can cheer each other on or make fun of each others mistakes (that’s what we do)
:D

Im thinking it wouldnt bother me anyways..as lately with my new Peltors..I cant hear #### all? lol... Or is it some ROs deliberately whisper when they talk to confuse people? lol

Quiet you knuckleheads, I'm transmitting!:p

Quig and Dan... I'm gonna knock your heads together until goo runs out your ears!!!! :D

USP.... wasn't me;) . I actually try to encourage people but not while they are actually shooting. I don't like being thrown off either.

As Dan pointed out, every sport has it's politics.

Tritium uses the super powers gained from his nuke days to move others bullets off target. Too bad he can't use those same powers to get his bullets to hit the right targets.
