Why is there so much politics in IPSC Ontario?

Let's face it, IPSC shooting is a complex individual sport. Therefore, we rely on each other's tips while playing against each other. Hey Trit, give me a tip... Bartledan, I just bought a Dillon 550, want is your current load recipe for 9mm?.... Hey Quigley, where did you get your grip tape?...

We all compete against each other, but with some many variables in the sport, and in sport shooting in general, there is going to be some politics.

And yes, we have bigger battles to win, and there should be less 'politics' involved.....

OK guys, it's time to stop with Tritium.

Yeah, it's all true and he ain't that tall, but leave the wee fella alone for a change.

How's it going Trit?

RePete.

138 grain Frontier bullet over 3.6 grains of tightgroup, with a small rifle primer.

You're going to have a hard time finding bullets hereabouts, though.

The nice thing here, though, is that there seems to be very little personal dislike/politics within the production division - all of the guys near the top know each other, and while we're not always best friends, I don't think there is any sense of "#### that #######", which sometimes exists in other divisions or even across divisions. We all laugh at each other's ####ups, all try to best each other's scores, and then we go out for dinner and drinks, laughing, afterwards...

So, there'll always be alpha-males around, but stick with the Production crowd, especially the young, university-age ones, and you'll be fine ;) ;)

The vast majority of the members are great people...but like any sport there are always a few that take it too far...

Just avoid the politics...

+1 good post :)

You just don't hear what they say about you behind your back :p

I think it should be manditory to shoot in at least two Division in any given year

and who is going to lift you up high enough to do that?:D

or are you gonna sneak up on them while they are sleeping:p

Hey, hey, my floral shirt wearing friend!!!! I haven't heard from you in a long time. :)

It's a good thing that I'm such a nice guy and don't use my skills for evil! Then again one day I could just snap... LIKE AT THE NATIONALS THIS YEAR!!!!!!!!!

(I didn't think I was really that short):(

Omen makes a good point. It seems like the top end guys in Production get along very well. I think we are all friends who respect each other and enjoy shooting against (and with) one another. I know that K and B, M-bomber and I get along great. IPSC 1 and I have had some good laughs. Bartledan and I train together and I think each of us has brought more than one shooter into the sport who has enjoyed and continues to enjoy themselves. It seems we also help out new folks where we can (even if they've been in the game and came from some other province etc.).

I recently met Angus Hobdell in the US and he is also a very funny, friendly and approachable guy!

Don't forget the Magnum PI shirt. :D Everyone really needs one. I might just wear one to the banquet.;)

hehe, ask me if I care ;) ?

I always try to be nice and friendly until someone gives me a reason to be otherwise; honestly, with so many people doing this, there is only a small crowd of people you can consider 'friends' or whatever. most people fall into the faceless background noise, and that you just learn to ignore. I try to retain the respect of people I respect and/or like, the others, who cares. No matter what you do, no matter how hard you might try, you will never, ever, please everyone. So just please yourself, and ignore the rest.
