Why no SCAR or ACR export?

Someone asked about the ACR trigger assembly... here's a picture:

most of those pieces look familiar.. Can't tell dimensions from a picture though... Selector is different, don't know about the box or the bar at the top

It's not so much the total weight of the thing, but the balance and how that weight is distributed. It's very front heavy. The bare gun itself is uncomfortable offhand, so I can imagine how bad it can get once you start putting lights, mounts and optics on it.

The Remington Military model seemed far better balanced and weighted in comparison.

I guess you dont like Swiss Arms either? A grown man should be able to handle that little bit of weight :)

If not then I suggest a really nice sling to help you out.

Some of the grown man cannot even do one chin up and a 3km jog with his own rifle.

Looks like Spikes Tactical will be making Barrels.

Order up some 18.5 " and we are laughing. Got to give Fabsports a call, he sells Spikes.

ACR $2100...maybe $300 for a barrel. = A cool non-restricted Rifle. :)

I`ve been searching for a cool AR-15 rifle to compensate for my desire for an ACR.......almost caved after reading about restrictions on 5.56 importation....this thread has given me renewed hope and patience. Keep the information coming everyone :>

I fired 3 mags (90 rounds...not 15!!! I love the US!) through one in Las Vegas at the end of July.

Its very nicely configured in terms of the controls, charging handle (which is placed nicely forward for right handers on the left side) etc.....but, I will say it is front heavy as noted by other posters. That may not be a clinching factor, but offhand it was a bit awkward.

Could I get used to it? Absolutely,

Where did you shoot it in Vegas? I go every now and then and frequent the ranges, I'd like to check it out next time I go.

I went to American Shooters. It is, in my opinion, much better. More locals, less tourists, they do IDPA on Tuesday nights and everyone is welcome. They also have a great store beside the range.

They have a limited selection of different rifles, mostly AR variants to rent, but they have nearly every handgun imaginable.

When I was there I shot the civilian semi auto ACR, and a full auto G36K.

Scars and ACRs are abundant here, although they arent cheap. Both seem to run in the $2500 US range. Thats BS that they wont export anything marked 5.56. Never heard of that. Its idiots making rules like that who need to go. If its legal to own there, no one here should have a problem with exporting it up to you guys. Bureaucratic nonsense! Someone needs a boot to the head:mad:

I'm interested to see how the ACR does.

Its weight and botched release by Bushmaster in the US are certainly killing the hype.

Will it get military sales or not, is the big question. With the way the economy is down there its not looking too good, but with all things political who knows.

I guess that's it for the scar :( just checked questars website and no more export permits :( so so sad, guess i'll have to wait for someone to sell theirs on EE ;)

Mark, how many of these scars were imported? just curious.

sorry if you had already answered that question.

The website has been sitting like that for months. Hopefully things change...

CRAFM has a sign up to pre-order the BACR (.223 marked ACR)...
It was something like $3199 but my memory might be failing.

Give them a call since it's not on their website...
