Why not the Ruger American LRT

Nice thread. I just got myself a LRT through EE :)
Took it to the range today, but wasn't blown away by the results, but I'll work to improve my part of the results and figure out the rifle part eventually

Has a SINGLE owner of these anywhere posted actual photos of their down-range results?
I may look up some results, but in short, this rifle is not worth your time.. unless you get someone to rechamber it... or replace the barrel altogether. the stock and action are ok otherwise.. another issue is the 10 round mag limit. I've had quite a few rifles after this one... and never have I thought that I need to get back to this one

what ammo though? I really like the look of these, but it's hard to deviate from my T1x that shoots a SD of 5fps and can hit under 0.3" at 50y with SK+....

Great point about the barrels. Thats one reason I was looking at a CZ457.
When I built my rifle, I did it on a 455, I would do the same today. Not that the 457 has some nice features, it does, but the care and workmanship given the 455 at the factory seems to be a bit higher standard that present production. Same barrels work, and just as customizable.

Maybe I was lucky and got one of the good ones but I really enjoy mine. It shoots far better than I can.

I put a Vortex 4X16X40 scope on it and a bipod and regularly drop 10 rounds in a 2 inch square at 100 yards. At times I have 3 or 4 shots touching in a 1 inch square in that result. No other modifications made...yet.

It is picky on ammunition. I shoot Eley Precision Benchrest with it. I went through about 7 different types of ammo to see what it prefers. Yes the ammo is expensive but if you are looking for precision at a distance you just have to accept the cost.

The one thing I dislike on it is the Ruger 10/22 rotary magazine. Hate that thing!

For what I would call a mid priced build it is very economical and accurate.

shot a couple sample targets with the LRT this fine morning
The old box Tenex surprised me, but they felt odd to the touch, almost dry like the wax had dripped off
