Why people complain they cannot dryfire .22LR?

Like I said, when the bur is/was removed it functioned fine yes?

Anything can be damaged or broken, that's not the question. The question is whether or not dry firing on any level let alone a lot will cause enough damage to be of concern. Based on the photos above, it appears some need to do a better inspection when cleaning. Such a bur shouldn't get so pronounced before being addressed.

Gunsmith suppliers(which are just another business) also those fancy gunsmithing blocks for pin removal and bore guides. Neither of which are necessary. They will sell whatever people are willing to buy, they have little interest in selling only what's necessary for any given task.

Its called a jewelers file and they fit nicely. If you're brave and steady enough a dremel or similar rotary tool with a stone bit works just fine.

I don't believe that sticking a Dremel or a file in the chamber of any gun is a good idea....... The only thing going in any of mine is a properly sized reamer. Bravery is not a good reason to screw up a chamber.

Ouch Bob, I grew up on a farm some of those boxes gave off a hell of a snap, did you see sparks lol?

You have my sympathy Bob, i found out that a golf course had one set up along a neighboring pasture to keep the cows from rubbing their fence down......i didn't see sparks, but i'm pretty sure my hose was venting steam.....and my handicap for the day went up ....a lot....i don't play golf anymore

Just saying, if it happened and I am not saying it did or didn't but if it did I think my entire life, up to that point in time, went through my mind. LOL

Take Care

The fence at my parent's place puts out enough power that grass doesn't grow against it, it just dies as soon as it gets to the bottom wire. It will jump about a 1/4" gap.

I worked on a hobby horse farm and have tested "the fence" when I was a kid, and no, not by pissing on it. That wire gives one he11 of a jolt.

On a side note it appears the Mods have "corrected" TDC. Shame really, I found most of his nonsense entertaining and this thread was no exception. Some folks are just unrepentant...{the unrepentant scare the sh1t out of me!} ;)

I have a Colt Challenger built in 1957 that does not lock back on the last round so I inadvertently dry fire it all the time because I don't count the rounds. Can't see any damage to the breech face. It must have a firing pin over travel stop?

Good suggestion with the dry wall anchors.
