why pistols 4 sale have 400 rounds fired

Every pistol for sale has 400 rounds threw it? Believable? not likely. Who the hell buys 400 rounds for a gun and sells it? I never bought a gun and put 6 rounds threw it and went bah next. I have 2 desert eagles 1 probably has 6000 rounds thru it and the other about 1500 so far with plenty more a coming.

Why dont you buy a gun and fire rounds threw it til it melts down? Try and wear the dam thing it out. Or maybe its just a fad what do i know.

Some people can not shoot the gun well, or just dont like it for one reason or another. A friend is selling a 44 desert eagle with gold trim which he paid an arm and a leg for after shooting around 20-30 rounds..he just cant shoot it well and wants to buy something else..
In general the members of this board are very honest and will give you a correct approximate roundcount (maybe because they are not liberals), so I tend to take the approximate roundcount at face value.
I've yet to be dissapointed.

I've sold two .22s here that I could have include the remaining 10 bullets of the 50 pack I tried in them. Didn't need to fire 6000 rounds to know the gun didn't fit me.

This is why we need a gun library. You look at what is available and you say "I would like to try that one for a while". You get it for a month and can renew for a second one if you need more time. After that it goes back and you can borrow another one. If you are late sending it back there are overdue fines. Just like library books there would be some kind of waiting list for popular guns. This way you would be able to try out guns without buying them.

I don't keep any records, but I do know I have a shotty I have never even put a shell in yet and I have had it for over a year.

I also have a "new to me" .22 that as of yet also has never had a round in it.

my pistols however, are less than a year old and each have over 1K rounds (give or take a few hundred, I do not keep records)

I am just starting a topic, there is no real point. Yeah I have sold guns with 400 rounds and maybe a few with less. And a few with more. But hey this is a three page discussion already, must be people out there who wanna talk about it.

What would be your top 10 list of handguns to try at your local indoor range/dealer. If they were to stock that many for the general public to handle. Does calibre matter or would you just like to see that lines flagship up for use?

I wouldn't sell a gun with only few hundred rounds thu it...it can't afford to. Every time you buy a new gun and sell it you loose money. I'd rather give it a chance, I might like it more after a few more range trips... Plus it doesn't metter if you have 100 or 1000 rounds thu the gun you'll still get the same amount for it.

Glock 18 - The other 9 can be an assortment with barrels less than 105mm

Anything else you can go to your local range and if you're nice about it most people will let you try theirs. Then you don't have to spend the entrance fee, $1 per shot for frangible ammo bought from the range, rental fees etc.

It may not be that bad with handguns in Canada, I'm not sure about TSE's fees, but for what I spent at The Gun Shop in Las Vegas last summer I could have bought a whole new gun!

Don't have 10 on my list yet but every well stocked shop should have:
CZ75
Browning HP
Don't know my Glocks yet... but yeah one of those
A S&W in both .357 and .44 mag
A couple of single action revolvers
some .22s
Of Course 1911s in both Norstinko and real ones.

I keep a perfect record of all rounds fired through all my guns.

Me too. It's getting harder to do with rimfires though as they are getting into the 10,000's.

I keep track of every round that has gone through my handgun. I had 1250 round of commercial ammo ( I kept every box that went through it), and then 550 of reloads.

The commercial ammo isn't important to me, well besides knowing how many empties I have. The reloads I watch carefully to know how many times the brass has been fired.

i have bought and sold 5 guns I never put one single round thru! I have a glock 27 for sale right now that has way less than 500 rds, I never even shot the gun. But the previous owner put a lot less than 500 thru it. Its more like 200 rds. I would rather error to the higher side than try to deceive a customer.

Not saying anything about your credibility, but if every gun for sale here has only been shot a couple time by the owner's grandmother on friday the 13th in the month of June, how do you know they will believe you? And if you bought it used, how do you knowhow many rounds have been through it, really? Besides obviously well used guns that is.

If gun is unfired, for the most part it can be identified as such. And a gun can still be in excellent condition after many rounds.

Not making fun of what you do, just making an observation.

My first USP had more than 5000 rounds through it. Only difference it made to me was the asking price! :):)
