Why so many Benelli auto loaders for sale ???

I like Benellis very much and have owned many different models. My observations as follows:

1. Way over priced for what you get, especially the Comfortech models. These are injection molded plastic and nothing special, extremely utilitarian. I much prefer their wood models as you usually get an nicer piece of walnut.

2. They do recoil more for sure, it is a sharper snap than gas guns and if you've been shooting 1100's, 11-87's and 391's your entire life you won't like a Benelli

3. I have had some QC issues, more than other brands I must say. Of the 7 different models I've owned, 3 had to go back to Stoeger for something

All in all they are my favourite autoloader, simple, clean running, light and nicely balanced but I'd never pay full price for one and never have, not to mention the fact that they've produced some dud models with well documented problems.

I own a SBE2, great reliable shotgun, well built and looks like it did the day I bought after many years of range and hunting use. Also own a older Rem 870, newer Boito Double barrel and owned a Mossberg Shockwave for a very brief period (questionable build quality for the Mossberg). The Benelli is far and above the best quality shotgun I own. Despite that am still contemplating selling it since I am only using for a few days of duck hunting a year, I did see a lot on the EE, not sure why there is so many.

Have been shooting shotguns for a half century. Pumps, single shot trap, O/U, SXS you name it. For the longest time I was a REMINGTON 1100 then the 11/87 owner. Migrated to Beretta then Browning and then Winchester SX2 then SX3. Recently purchased two Benellis. One in 12 gauge and another in 20 gauge. Point blank is the quality is unrivalled. The small number of parts ,coupled with great quality leads to easy maintenance and they come with or have available anything to make them fit the vast majority of shooters. As for some on here claiming they have more recoil, Im not seeing it or feeling it. I will never sell my 20 gauge Super Sport. In my opinion they are not overpriced compared to the junk guns that are only slightly less money that dont work. See it at my gun club at every event we hold, single shot T-Bolt semi auto junk. More Benellis for sale strictly because ther are proportionately that many more of them out there. Why do you suppose so many companies copy their action. Pretty easy to figure it out. Dont see anyone copying any gas guns. While ur cleanin ill be shootin

Saying that there are proportionately more Benelli’s out there would be suggesting Benelli’s outsell all other manufactures. What is your source for that statement?

You say there are so many companies copying their design, which companies are you referring to? Franchi and Stoeger use the ID system, but they are the same company. Curious who these other companies you are referring to?

I have for some time been considering a higher end Benelli auto as an all rounder, re sports and hunting. I have not been successful finding any non bias reviews of the SBE, or the Ethos. If these shotguns are so good, WHY so many for sale with only a few rounds through them?? Being in a remote rural area i don't have the luxury of finding any to try. I can understand someone paying the right side of 2500 dollars for an autoloader not wanting to criticize it and risk loosing a sale. I would like to hear from Benelli owners first hand if they are reliable functioning with all loads, is the recoil in excess of gas guns, is the balance and handling on par with say a recent Beretta ? If you have a give me the good and not so good please.

Its weeks before Christmas and with covid some may need money to pay bills, buy food, buy presents for the kids and dads gun collection isnt safe from any of those possible reasons/scenarios.

I have owned several and still own M2s in 20 and 12.

Lots of used SBE2s for sale with guys asking 1800-2000. They are 300-500 overpriced which is why most are still listed.

I know where there are at least 2 brand new SBE2s for sale for $1800 plus tax.

I believe a lot of people buy them and then think having all that cash tied up is too much and they sell them, I own a few benelli"s and they are amazing guns

i use a mossberg 500 pump gun for small game hunting i do not mind if it gets dinged, scratched, dropped or used to club an animal the Franchi O/U I take out a couple times a year only if the conditions are right that my dad whose 87 bought in the late 60's in Italy.

Benelli makes awesome guns. Not cheap guns, but they hold value well. Times are tough for many and a Mossberg will shoot the birdies just as dead. Also, new stuff comes out all the time - lots of brand loyalists might jump to a new model just to try it out.

But you aren't going to go wrong buying a B-gun if the fit is correct for you.

I bought a super sport in 20 gauge, and its an absolute blast to shoot. While a little lighter then most of my skeet and sporting clay guns, it shoots well and fits me awesome. The fake carbon fibre gets a lot of slack, but I think it looks great. It functions well, shoots my 3/4 oz reloads without a problem.

I've owned and shot numerous Benelli shotguns.

Currently have a M2 in both 12 and 20.

No complaints at all.

Well, I find them to be too bulky and long for the late season hunts while wearing big heavy jackets.
Maybe other people are figuring this out and trying to sell.
Great guns, but just too big and bulky for my liking.

Benelli are goods, My M4 and my M2 are perfect. My 1301 Beretta is pretty well made also but still for me the M4 is the best SA shotgun on the market. YMMV. JP.

As a long time Benelli fan, own several, and shot exclusively for several years..

The new beretta gas guns are outstanding.

They are softer shooting, more reliable if you do your part in cleaning, and they pattern way nicer.

My issue with a Benelli is sometimes when you shoulder quickly, or at an awkward angle in a layout blind, or even with many layers of clothing is they would not cycle correctly. They are still great guns, narrow and slim and fit great, but I think their technology is getting outdated

My thoughts on Benelli of which I own a couple the outfitter I have been going to in Sask rents guns for his clients who used to be almost all from the US .He uses 25 benelli's ,I asked him why least amount of downtime and almost all clients like them.Ok, Argentina on a dove shoot a few years back ,and what does the outfitter use ,all Benelli 20 and 28g ,why I ask ,least amount of downtime and good performance. Shot 7000 (yes) 20/28g shells in 3 days never had a burp and thats 5 through the pipe.So that says a bunch but everyone has their own perception on what they like and I think thats great.Competition between manufacturers leads to innovation and is good in the end for all of us.Now I see they make a 28g 3" hmmm...

I own a benelli sbe 3 love the thing for sporting clays, ducks, goose and pheasants. Beautiful gun - slimmer and shoulders better to me than the a400 - which what I was originally going for. I have read some awful things about the benelli on the internet. But I truly love the thing and do well. It is reliable as hell and pretty simple to take apart. Never had any issues ever....until this past weekend when I put a super tight turkey choke on it and have it shooting high to the right. Missed two gobblers because of that...but that’s another story.

hi fellows!

The search on "Benelli" keyword brought me here )

Did anyone own or shoot a Benelli Ethos BE.S.T. so far ?
Benelli Surface Treatment (BE.S.T.) – a new proprietary finishing technology – prevents rust, corrosion and abrasions.

What are your impressions?
