Why So Many CZ 452/455s on the EE?

Training with a rimfire doesn’t work for everybody. Maybe it’s my short attention span, but unless I’m taking new shooters out, the rimfires don’t see a lot of action these days. Even less so at the range.

Too be fair they are very popular rifles so there are a lot of them in people's hands.

It makes sense that a number of them would be on the EE from time to time. It seems to ebb and flow.

There's always a boatload of 10/22's also.

Maybe people buy a couple variations and keep the one they like best. I like my 455 Lux very well except for the 90 degree bolt lift. I would like to try a 452 varmint some day. CZ rimfires are a great way to challenge yourself with accuracy, ammo is cheap and I'm guessing most CZ are capable of under 3/4" at 50 yards with a few different types of ammo (and possibly under 1/2" with their favorite ammo). I would not be scared to get a CZ if you are thinking about it.

Good question, noticed this too. Part of the reason I've yet to list my 452 Varmint. :) Kidding, but it hasn't seen much use since I bought a T1X. Love the Tikka WAY more than I thought I would, and the accuracy is something to behold. The 452s are favourites...and 2 of them are among the few survivors of my 2 year purge. Rather have a few I love/use.

I think the 457s are handsome guns for sure, and tempting, but with so many interests and guns I want to try...having a bunch of dust collectors makes less sense the older I get.

People sell in fall when the economy sucks, especially when Christmas is coming. Buy again in the spring. Also, many were replaced by 457.

That would be my guess as well . The economy is getting tight again , and the CERB money has run out . Combine that with not much use for a 22 over the colder winter months ; and up for sale they go .

The .22 is useful in winter if you hunt small game.

But I'll be putting the targets away in a few weeks, I'm sure.

Cheers,
Neil

Same here, it seems like I'm always reaching for the same few rifles... A while back the wife was teasing me that I was either getting old or getting reasonable.
- We stopped at a sporting good store with a "gun" section, they had a newer T-Bolt in 22lr for a reasonable price... Wife: you didn't buy it? Me: No, what would I use it for? I already have ### that I like and serve the same fonction :ninja:...

As for the bunch of CZ452... I think it goes in waves
- One guy sees a rifle sell for $$$
- Guy realize that he has one he's not using... and could use the $$ for something else...

I reckon yer right on that, as I've noticed similar trending over the years for CZ 452's. I have a 452 Lux & a 452 Scout that be with me till croaksville.
The CZ 455 Ultra Match I had for a few years was a dandy shooter as well, but sold 'er to make room in the safe for a Bergara B-14R.
Can't help having fun with a good 22.
;)

Definitely that way with me and the Savage Mark IIs. I think I've had 6 different variations on the same action, and eventually you get the hankering to trade some of them (and that all-valuable safe space) in for some new toys...
