Why so scared to buy an XCR ??

XCR's are made by Robison Arms as I recall, the M96 had issues and I remember a lot people have difficulty getting support. This is all from memory and not googled, so i might be totally wrong.

Rob arms makes the xcr but as far as support their rep is always posting on cgn. Have pm here a couple times and have never waited more than a day for a response.

Seventeen wow! I never worried about the price of assualt rifles at that age. too busy buying a car and chasing girls. God Bless the internet

not to mention getting good grades and eating your vegetables, right? (for the kids!) :D

but really, getting an XCR, ammo, maybe optics and other accessories would total to the amount of a pretty decent used car.

lol oh theres that too, the partying is seriously cutting into my range time:D and i have a car. I work a 47 hour work week this summer to pay for this addiction lol

I had an M-96 and endured the lack of customer support when Robinson Armaments decided to focus all their attention on the XCR. Long story short my rifle was a safe queen waiting for spare parts for almost a year. Just wait until they decide to focus on something else. :jerkit: I was lucky enough to sell my M-96 for almost as much as I paid for it.

Spare parts for Ar-15s are everywhere, have a proven track record, and they are a lot cheaper. If I want to blast lots of rounds in the bush I'll use my CZ-858 and if I want to shoot varmints I'll get a bolt gun. 'nuff said.

Ok ill bite why the $1200 price tag is because of the lack of plastic parts, the quad rail, the after market sites the gas piston op system why 1200 for an xcr and 1400 for a 180b. and yes u can get a low end ar for 1000 bucks. but a nice ar is still 1800

It is a $1200 Rifle with a $1200 non-restricted fee added

Thats the most concise was of saying it I have seen yet.

In most cases an AR-15 would be a much better gun but being restricted its usefulness is limited.

I still dream of a sub-MOA semi-auto for gopher and coyote shooting but the AR-180, XCR, Mini-14, CZ-858, SKS, etc just are not going to make it happen for me.

Why are swiss arms 3000 if u go to rob arms site and spec out the same rifle u get from wolverine add tax exchange and shipping your pretty close to par to what we pay.

Can anyone make a valid argument to why they think it should cost $1200.Maybe after 40 years of mass production we pay 1200 for an ar what would one of the first 10,000 cost in todays dollars??

People pay $200 on ee for the sites on these rifles

Sounds like a SAN Black Special or a H&K SL8 is what you are after.

As to the XCR:
Having someone who works at Robarms as a member of the forum does not necessarily mean there is greater end user support than any other system or manufacturer.
For all of the people that rally around Robarm's flag and post about the XCRs' benefits and attributes over other rifle systems, very little of them seem to be either true, released to the Canadian public, or reality.

Beltfed what problems did u experience with your xcr ? I have had none but then again i have one. Not many xcr owners posting problems they have and the fixes. Maybe if u bought one and gave it a chance things would be different.

$1200 price tag anybody ??

I don't own an XCR. Never have, and likely won't (I will never say never though).
I have handled and fired one from 100 to 300m.
Accuracy was the sh!ts, and while it didn't breakdown while in my use, that particular rifle has had parts fall off of it.
Despite that, I think they have potential to be a fairly decent sporting rifle.
I think though, the prices they command will keep them out of the mainstream.

You are on a fishing trip asking why people aren't buying them.
The title of this thread you started makes the supposition that people are shying away from purchases due to a baseless worry.

With Robarm's history, documented problems from individuals and a very heavy price tag, it is likely people are not 'scared' as you put it, but informing themselves prior to spending alot of discretionary income on an item that is used for recreation (in alot of cases). Comparing the cost of the XCR to an AR; one could purchase an AR, a couple thousand rounds of ammunition and a few years worth of membership at a range, for the same or similar cost. Most would agree that the XCR is mostly priced out of the competiton.;)

Most of the naysayers don't own an xcr, for the m96 debacle. Others like their ARs or Pe90s.

The xcr offers more to me than either of those, but the trigger sucks. As for the guy whining about having a sub moa semi, the xcr can do it, so can the AR, same with the sl8 and pe90.

There are the usual xcr haters- beltfed and armedsask come to mind. One loves his pe90 and the other loves his ar180b, and thinks every piston gun out there copied it's gas system.

To each his own.

I like my xcr better than the AR I had, or the pe90 I shot or the AR180b I shot.

Some people just can't accept that the xcr is a damned good gun.
