Why the hell do people hunt with semi auto rifles??

The bottom line, is that anyone that uses a semi auto is a unethical slob, that aims by the spray and pray method....EVERYONE knows that.

Yup, seems to be the norm... I hear remington is offering a crankeroo, and a 50 shot mag in their 2007 catalogue for the 7400/750

I am sitting here naked, and thinking about your massive ten shot magazine....

MMMMMMMMMMMMMMM........shots..........

Ya & they leave for the hunt with only one single bullet right

Sure glad I live in a province where I'm allowed to shoot more than one game animal at a time :dancingbanana:

Ya like fawns, your sister, your grandma, your high school's beauty queen,......did I say your sister yet?

I am confident in my first shot. I am confident in my second shot. I am confident in my third, fourth and fifth shot.

I'm not so confident in my ability to convince the wardens why it's fine to have 5 deer in the back of my truck.

Why not? If you hunt with a semi you are an unethical poacher anyway. Try using a topper on yer poachin' wagon, it makes the 15 legs in the air a little less apparent. And it's only fifteen legs 'cause you shot a couple off (dirty poacher:50cal::50cal:).

The problem is you assume we're arguing...
If you have anything pointless to add to this conversation, please do... If not, and you choose to be a voice of reason, find another thread...

I don't know "Reason", but then again, I am really bad with names and there are alot of voices.............

for got one

leaver actions = lone ranger wannabes
garands = ww2 war hero wannabes

semis aren't bad if charged by a bear a crappy semi that james every 3 shoots is better thena single shoot that takes ... how long does it take to load a muzzle loader? any ways it doesn't matter first shoot didn't drop him i'm dead:dancingbanana::dancingbanana::dancingbanana:

i considered a semi why cause if i mess up and wound an animal the first shot which can happen to any one i can fire a second as son as the rifle settles

if the first shot is bad and i hit just not ina vital area i'd hope that i'd have time to follow up before i lose sight in the end i decide on a bolt and to put extra time into practising to increace the chaces of the first shot counting

BTW the friend that owns the semi auto BAR was the one who gave me the advice to go with a bolt to start hunting

Are you by chance envious that I can shoot up to 14 deer LEGALLY :)

OR

are you just a TROLL

You can shoot up to about 13-14 deer legally in BC, if you go use some of the special seasons..

Plus elk, moose, sheep goat, caribou, 2 cougar, 2 black bear, bison, grizzly, 3 bobcat, 3 wolf, yotes....

I don't think that he is envious.:p

yeah but when politions become legal game ontario will have the most i can't wait till then hopefully there will be a better turn out at the second candian revolution then the first

then we'll all be hunting with full autos you Class 12 people better do your part so there is enough to go around to insure our freedom

I can only get one tag in MB (or am willing to pay for anyway) now that I've become an import Albertan. Haven't hunted yet here in Ab, but I plan to head out with my Whelan this fall for elk.
I don't poach, and there are a lot of bad things I'd like to do to the guys that drive past the bush when were doing a push. I've never fired at a deer out of my truck window (or anyones). I always aim for the boiler room. No fancy neck/head shots. And I've never made one windmill a leg around, but I saw a guy do that with... OMG his bolt.. Oopsie.
One guy sort of laughed when he saw my BAR's groups, but he stopped when I put 3 shots on the 100m gong offhand. I'm not saying that's awesome, but by the look on his face, I'd say he couldn't do that with his Tikka.
I don't take the 'auto's have faster follow up' argument. My Dad can keep his .303 up and work the bolt without a problem. But since the muzzle always comes up with that Parker-Hale after a shot, he can't keep the scope on the animal(s). Granted, he's shot it since 1968 and I'd say he's gotten used to it by now.
You can say what you want about auto's, and guys that shoot them. I know what I can do with it and it's good. It and and I shoot better than a lot of fellows can with their high end rifles and scopes.
Lets keep going. We're almost to page 40!

I must be an awesome sight, as the hounds push the deer into the line of fire. The Cowboys open up with their auto loaders and the sounds of bullets smacking flesh. Captain Carnage claims that venison shot full of adrenaline and bullets is not the exception it's the rule.:)

You can tag unlimited cougars in TO, and some big boned bison too.:p

HOWEVER, only recommended if you use a muzzle protector and are shooting blanks.

It is a common misconception that out west we use enormous lift kits on our trucks because we are incorrigible rednecks. The reality is, well, fat chicks can't climb:evil:

Well, speaking for myself, whenever I am hanging at the remote hunt camp I think to myself "What if the zombpocalypse happens during deer season?"

That's why I switched to hunting with a semi...in case of zombpocalypse you single shot/bolt action guys will be eaten...whereas I, by virtue of superior firepower will remain to de animate the area and begin repopulating the earth as soon as I rescue the local college cheerleading squad.

You=food.

i forgot about the zombie threat oh #### us bolt hunters are doomed:runaway::runaway:

If I were allowed to hunt with an FN C1A1 I would, standing off-hand shots are a breeze and.308 is perfect. Bushmaster .450 Thumper looks damned interesting but restricted.
