Here is my hunt for wild boar in Europe, you can call me to help, if I was only closer.....
Not sure how big they are in Hawaii, the ones I put down were between 70 and 90 Kilos

I stopped in a small rural gunshop in Central Alberta and I happened to mention that I once found sign regarding wild boar at the Connor Creek Grazing Pasture, just west of Westlock. But recently I went there and found no sign of them anymore.......and why so, in a short span of time.
It was told to me that some Alberta counties actually hired fellas to eradicate them, on the agreement to pay them twice the asking bounty price in Alberta. Each county handles this, in thier own policies within the respective rural/farmland areas.
This policy quickly knocked down the wild boar numbers in some counties here.
Thirdhand info passed on to me......
I think they should live trap those pigs to the west and let them go in Northern Ontario!
While you're at it I'd also like a few hundred breeding pairs those little prairie dogs(gophers) to let go on my property!
Me and the dogs would get many, many hours of fun out of those things!

If you are hunting over dogs then most people over here (NZ) insist that guests don't use a gun to avoid overexcited n00bs shooting their dogs. Dogging pigs is the only real way to do it anyway. The older boars aren't that tasty but younger ones and sows are. Make sure you cook it properly as pigs can carry parasites. Once you have eaten wild pork you will wonder what the hell we did to domestic pork to make it such a bland tasteless meat.
it's open season on them here in Mb, no lic required, no limit, open to yr round hunting. And you never see one in the day light! The tell tale signs and the tracks are there, they are definately there, but out of sight. You see the hoof prints by the thousands and the belly drag in a foot of snow. I was told by an x co worker, who lives in an area where they are plentyfull, that the only way you're gonna see them is from a tree stand on a well moon light night! They leave mass destruction behind in his back yard & garden. Other info gathered : they are tough as all hell and die hard, so don't use a small cal, forget the 223's and such. If you wound one and make it squeel, you'll have a whole bunch there in moments to deal with, they will attack so don't be on foot! And apparently the wild boar meat taste is superb, second to none! My mouth is watering, I need to git one this winter! I live closer to one of the prime areas now, so I just might get lucky!

Have a friend in Texas who has a little ranch. The feral hogs there are a problem, even eat fauns and destroy a lot of vegitation. They do carry parasites, but the cool thing is about 15 minutes away they have a wild cat sanctuary (lions, tigers) that take whole hogs, no gutting required. Hoping to get there someday for some hogs with a handgun. I suggested I'd also like to try spearing one, he said he wouldn't, but offered to sit up in a tree and watch me.

Now that the unpleasantness is out of the way, as was mentioned earlier in the thread, the pork are considered pest species both here, AB, and in Sask-a-bush. Or 'feral pigs' as my local Fishcop calls them. Therefore, no season is in effect.
I'm keeping my supply secret, but I'm sure if you bought the beer and brought AylandA an extra, real nice, boar gun to use and that you could gift him when you went home, he'd be happy to take ya. The Saskatchewinians are good people, as long as you don't mention football. LOL

No huntable population in Alberta!! That seem to be the consences. There were some in a few spots but are soon cleaned up by locals. The only spot I have personal info about was a local herd of hogs that lasted only a couple months after it became public. What part of Sask has hogs, my kid has a farm N of saskatoon. When the sow charges is when u use the spear. wanting to try. Aj
