Will Marstar ever get those M1 Garands in?

$700-$900 for one has to be brain damaged

That is an ignorant thing to say about a rifle that you know nothing about in terms of condition etc. Why would 700 for a very good condition garand with matching parts be too much? What would you buy for 7-900 a CX4, a piece of a AR, a rem 700???

Prices for guns and gun parts have started to go crazy in the US. There is a limited supply and people have just started to realize that the supply of MIL Spec parts is limited.

I have recently seen new M14, TRW op rods go for over $300, and new TRW stripped bolts are usually in the $200+ range. Garrand parts are a bit cheaper but still increasing quickly.

If you dont like the prices today, you'll regret that you didnt buy tomorrow.

Im certain people were complaining about $400 garands too, yet regret not buying a few when demand made prices double.

If you dont understand simple economics, then you have brain damage :D

People who buy garands for 700-900 are just gunnutz.

It's got crazy here in the States over Garands and M1 Carbines. $600.00 is a real steal anymore and that's for a not so nice example. $800.00 to $1200.00 for the nicer matched ones isn't unheard of either.

I bought a nice Garand Springfield and an IBM M-1 carbine a few years back at what I though was pricey but nothing near what the market demands now.

CMP has some carbines, Inlands I believe, due out this month some some may hopefully filter over the border along with the Garands they've been selling for years. A bunch from Greece have been sold here in recent months if I recall correctly at decent prices too.

Check this guys blog on U.S. military collectables.

I bought my Beretta Garand for $300 in VG condition.I would never pay over $500 for one.

The Norinco copies are a good value, and I am thinking of getting one.

That Danish refurb, that was up for $900.00, sold in approx a week. Thats gotta be a record price. If it was lower it would have sold in hours. Just goes to show how far the price can be pushed for a clean example.

we're talkin about Breda M1's not origonal production units. Would you pay $1000 for a Nork M14? I would pay $400-$500 for a repo M1 but I'm not payin $1000!

Breda M1 Garands are not reproduction M1s. They are actual M1 Garands made with actual Winchester tooling that was sold to Breda.
Not as desireable as US Rifle issued M1s? Most definitely, but still, they are authentic M1 Garands.

I'm still kicking myself for not snagging one of the sub $200 Garands SIR had for sale 6 or 7 years ago. mind you, back then you could get an all matching No4 Mk2 with full wood (still in the cosmo!) for about the same price at the time

Wasnt this the situation with Norenco and the M14 American tooling sold to chinese?
yet norenco m305 still cheap .

There's a Garand up in the surplus EE now for $625. I'd pay it if I had it available to me right now. Chances are, it's already sold. As soon as that seller logs on he will no doubt be swamped with PM's.

A Norinco M-305 went for $425, complete with 90 rounds of ammo in that same EE in about an hour. Imagine that... someone selling a USED rifle for less than it was bought for.... unbelievable!

The people who support the 'market price' can pay what they will, but I'll hold out for a deal. Lately it seems that some firearms prices are like oil prices, any tiny or imaginary shortge or possible shortage will send prices sky high. It's freakin' rediculous.

"Well Johnny.... Jupiter, Mercury, Venus, and Saturn are all aligned, it's a full moon out and there are political troubles in French Polynesia which may affect the firearms market in Equatorial Guinea..... let's jack up the prices 75%"
