The good ole 30-30
You are very lucky to have a 94 of that age, presumably in good shape. I recently lucked out and got a 94, 30-30, once used in war time by the PCMRs, to guard such things as bridges. It is in super beautiful condition, except whoever added a Lyman peep, scratched the side a bit. I am a firm, firm, believer in peep sights. I had another pre 64 Model 94, which I put a Williams Fool Proof peep on. (Later gave that rifle to a son.) I prefer this model Williams to the Lyman. If you can find the right one it will just screw onto the 94.
I spent many years, shooting thousands of rounds, target shooting and hunting with rifles of the 303, 30-06 and 270 class, but now I have "discovered," how much enjoyment can be had with good lever actions. Thus, I now have my fun mostly with the 94, 30-30 and the Marlin 44 mag.
