I have an opportunity to grab a Win Mod 70 Ranger in 30-06 off a good friend who's switching calibers. Serial dates it between '91-'92. Has the standard iron sights associated with the Ranger model.
It does have some very light pitting on floor plate and an area about the size of 1/2 a dime under the barrel 2-3" from the end. Bolt & action are sound and cycle smoothly. Barrel twist is still looking crisp. Beech stock has seen some field time, but isn't beat to rat-sh**. Overall i'd rate it in Good shape.
Question is, what's it worth and is it worth grabbing as a backup? (the rifle, i'm aware the Cal is capable).
