Winchester 101

The 101 is just winchester's version of the Citori just like it's super X rifle is it's version of the new BAR. I would buy a Browning before a Winchester these days.

Gotta call BS on that one as the original Wichester 101 was bought out around 1963 which was long before the Browning Citori. If your refering to the reincarnation of the 101 that is a different matter and a gun that I would personally avoid.

I've been less than impressed with Winchesters O/U Supreme offerings for the past several years. Not sure where those were made but the specimens that I handled were lacking in quality. Don't see many of them around here on the sporting fields and not a gun I would want to entrust any longevity in.

As for the Citori it has a decent track record for a strong durable action which I can attest to putting several thousand rounds trough mine without a hiccup.

From what I just read on the internet on a review of the new 101 it's designated as a entry level gun. For my money I would be buying a good used Citori rather than be the R&D for this new attempt to flog the Winchester name to sell a so-so gun.

The Valmet was made by Valmet in Finland. Then later Tikka made them also.
My Tikka has Marrochi barrels and a Valmet buttstock!
if you look at the Valmets ,Tikkas and the Marrochis, there is almost no distinguishing feathures between them.
This has me thinking that the valmet nd the Tikka were OEM by marrochi - especially since the barels on my Tikka have Italian proof marks!!

Strange. Because my barrels are marked Finland no Italian marks at all. It's an early one though maybe thats the difference. What model is yours?

Tikka 412S
You can see pics of it in the exchange ( got the Rizzini coming!)
My son doesn't want me to sell it, and considering the amount of traffic I'm getting on it, I will likely keep it - it's a great shooter with the rifle or shotgun barrels!.
Is yours proofed with Finnish marks?
