Winchester .22 ammunition

the hollow point are as good as Dynapoints in a bolt action. I use them for varmints as they hit hard and expand.

i have a few Cooey 64s (semi autos) that thehollows have a problem..... do not feed as the lead has rough rings on it but the mossberg semi auto eats it no problem. Different mags and feeding system I guess.

they sure hit hard when I shoot plastic pop bottles full of water. And cheap too. never had a misfire either. Unlike a couple other brands.

Decent

I've been happy with them. They are standard cheap bulk ammo so don't expect them to be the same as something for 3 times the money.

I haven't had any failure to fires that I can recall. They feed well in one of my bolt actions and not so well in another but that is more the gun being picky than the ammo.

I know they recalled some ammo last fall I think, but understand that any problems have worked their way through.

Expert

Well Ive gone through over 5000 of them gopher shooting and I like the way they perform. For a bulk bullet they do far better then the Federals. The large hollowpoint works well and they feed fine in my 10-22.

I must have shot at least 10 bricks of xperts this summer through my old cooey model 60. There were very very few failure to fire, less than one per brick on average. My Savage MKII does not like them though, they will jam up in both my 5 and 10 shot clips. Overall I think the xperts are a very good bulk round if your rifle will feed them. My local wally world has the xperts for $17.00 per brick, but I am going to try out the new winny "333" they just started stocking which at $10.00/333 works out cheaper per round, and I wouldnt mind switching to a copper washed bullet anyway if for nothing else than not getting lead all over my hands. For the MKII, I have found the Federal bulk 525 give me flawless feeding and better accuracy than the xpert or dynapoints, report on the 333 to follow soon. :)

They seem to be the best "universal" ammo for my .22s
Bolt-actions have no issues, my semi-auto tube fed Mossys love em and its the only bulk ammo my 597 can handle.

They don't like my 10/22..loads of misfires/stove pipes and poor accuracy. dynapoints on the other hand group about .75" at 50yards with my butler creek carbon fiber barrel..maybe the barrel was the problems for the winchester xpert??

Kaboom with Expert ammo

I experienced a kaboom with Winchester Expert last July while gopher hunting. The rifle was a Brno bolt-action.No injury, but damaged the bolt. Will go back to using Federal ammo.

Crappy Tire sells the Winchester Dynapoiny GT's for $2 more than the Xpert hollow points.
There a 40 grain copper plated .22 LR HP.
They give me the best bang for my buck in ALL my guns.

333 are great in my old Mossberg semi, tried some others and they jammed constantly.
For the price and reliably (so far) 1/2 the box can't complain at all.

I put 300 rounds of Xpert through a new Walther P22 pistol last night, not a single issue. It did concern me that the bullet wobbles around a little bit on most of the rounds but if they work I'm happy. I haven't found anything else cheaper. Picked up another 2000 rounds for fun today at Walmart and CanadianTire(Boxes were a buck cheaper at Walmart)

"...the same as something for 3 times the money..." The price of .22 ammo has nothing to do with whether or not your rifle will both shoot it well and cycle the action.

I have shot 1000's of the xpert .22 bulk stuff through my gevarm. Only one FTF / FTE out of at least 6 - 7 boxes.

When i tried opening up the hollowpoint with a bic pen about 10% of them would not feed properly (kinda scary on a gevarm!) .
