I'll go you one better IMO it shoulda never been introduced. When John M submitted the 86 dual pillar action,it shoulda ended there. Perhaps with some minor mods.Maybe something as smooth as a 71. If that gun were around today, with minor mods and caliber assortment, you'd be paying more for it,but you'd have a real gun..Even a hundred year old 94 that was built when they cared aint as smooth as the 86's, 92's, 71's, IMO :D

All center fire rifles with lever actions and tube magazines are just can-openers to me... should they stop making them... NO :!:
Cowboys need guns too

if winchester was to quit making the 94, how long do you think it would be before we saw knock-offs, esp chinese - and they'd pull like tractors too, not like your 94 or 92 for that matter- remember. we're talking about one of the all-time classics here, savage did something similar a while back with the 99, but that didn't have near the reputation or distribution the 94 has-

Going strong on over 100 years and something like 7,000,000 manufactured yet still somewhat of a demand for them, I say carry on! :p

Hey maybe they'll come out with a CGN Commemorative!

Actually there is an idea, leave the pumps and levers to Norinco, and then USRAC could focus on designs and quality

Awesome idea, just think. My very own model '94 with CGN and my username etched in the reciever: "Canadian Gunnutz Commemorative Model 1894 Huntsman"

That sure looks & sounds sweet,

Huntsman

Um? Hasn't that already been done? I believe its called a 336.... Ok, Ok, that's a Marlin, if you want to pick nits. :D

But seriously, in terms of functions and features, what else does a 94/336 need?

Lighter materials?
Better sites (definitely)
Bent loop lever?
Frame mounted de-####? (for the pistol caliber crowd)

OH Yes the modern 94. 2" of trigger creep. An action thats as smooth as a pig on stilts. Sight, every bit as good as what I wittled out for my rubber band gun when I was 8..And oh the accuracy(minute of bulls ass)..The 94 has often been spoken of as the gun thats taken the most deer. What kind of a brag is that when for 70+ years its virtually the only gun out there...I can make a pretty safe bet from what I've seen that its wounded more than its retrieved in that devine thuddy thuddy caliber

Not a problem, H-Man!

Send me your rifle, and I will happily engrave your receiver for you.
