Winchester M70 coyote rifles

@Jayman.
I bought myself a Coyote in 270WSM for hunting in the Alpines for Muledeer and Goat and i was really amazed at the performance of it ,at long range with my handloads.Groups average sub MOA all the way out to 1000 yards,if weather-condition are on my side and i would definately recommend to you to buy one.For the price,you can't go wrong.I never shot one in .223,but i believe it to be a great performer.
Good luck

I am interested in what handloads you use to shoot 1000 yards.... bullets powder etc... Captain Deadly is interested too.;)
The Coyote rifles are very fine indeed.:cool:

Over the years Win played around with the Coyote name, the only ones I cared for were the cheap heavy barreled ones. They were a good bargain. The ones you link to are OK, not great, but OK. For a hunter who is going to carry his gun around they are a good rifle.

I've heard 1st hand (from a real live previous owner) about major feed problems in the Coyote in .223WSSM. :eek:

I would avoid that like the plague. :mad:

SC...................

Thanks for the input guys. Looks like my new years resolution will be to pick up one in standard .223 with matt finish.

If your rifle is sighted "0" @ 200yds how high would you have to hold over to get to 1000 Yds?
Thanks

@meanea.
Well,since my rifle is zeroed at 100 yards,i'll entertain you and give you the holdover for a 1000yds=316'' or appr.32 MOA and that's at an altitude of 1000feet and at an average Temperature of 59F.Bullet is the 150gr Ball.Tip (Nosler ) behind 57.2 gr of IMR4350 and a COL.2'945".Cases are neckturned.Happy ???

By the way,if zeroed at 200yds it would require a holdover of 300'' or appr.30MOA.Oh,i forgot you need to have at least 400 posts ,in order to know anything about shooting or guns.

Someone got a new ballistics program for X-Mas....:p
Your really gonna have to lighten up Varmint... legitimate questions are mixed with good natured ribbing here. And no-one is going to take your claim of Sub MOA groups at 1000 yards seriously... unless you are an expert long range B/R competitor shooting a 6.5-284 with Krieger barrel and a Viper action.:rolleyes:
P.S. thanks for the load information... I tried 4350 in my Tikka T-3 270WSM... but settled on Retumbo and compressed loads for the 150 grain bullets. It is not quite as fast as 4350 but the recoil is substantially lighter and the consistency/accuracy is much better... but then again, I only shoot at 500 yards.:redface:

As I have never seen a 1000yd shoot so this will lead me to my 2 other questions
1)How big is the target
2)If you hold 316" 0r 26' over how can you still see the target?
this are 2 honest questions and don't sass me with Happy again ???
also I have never reloaded so the reloading data means nothing to me!
If you want to tell me to kiss off now would be the time.

Meanea I think you need to take your gun out, that is if you have one capable enough and try it for yourself. Nothing like learning something by actually doing it. I know 1000 is a long way but regular practice at that range shortens the gap. Enough of this though I am going to go load up some 300WM myself and shoot some MOA groups at 1000 yards. Hopefully 3/4 MOA. Thanks for gun Rembo. Confidence in your equipment also helps.

some rifles and shooters are capable of shooting sub 10" groups at 1000 yards.
