Hi guys, I just acquired a model 100 in .284, I traded a 10-22 for it so I know I got the better deal there. However, I have no knowledge about this rifle whatsoever. I'm thinking of selling it and have no clue as to how much it's actually worth. I know it is a rare rifle, that's about it. Thanks in advance!!!

Got it, pictures are up. yah she shoots well, no problems there, just that ammo is hard to find so haven't been able to shoot it a whole lot. was gonna start reloading my own for it.

Nope, just know enough on how to post through photobucket to get myself into trouble.

Looky, don't look at it, it's uggerly.Tizz got them see threwz ring things on it and it has a Bushnelle scope on it too.
You just can not unsee the beauty of this fine gun.
Trust it groups well with the little time you spent with it.

no thanks bud, just parted with a 10-22. this rifle here is tight, she is a classic beauty and don't know if i want to part with it quite yet. i was just wondering if anyone does know a ballpark price.

"Mint' indicates a coin is exactly as it was minted... not a blemish, never been handled by an ungloved hand.

"Mint" in this particular case means very good.

It is a post 64 rifle and basically no parts have been available for many years now.

The magazine is very short and does not allow the full potential of the .284 case.

Put some decent mounts on it and use it... if you want to sell it my guess is you can probably get $600 fairly quickly from someone.

Pictures also turn out more detailed if you use a non glare background and no flash. If there are shiny objects, flash will "flash" it out every time. If you have a dslr and a separate flash, point it towards the ceiling to reflect the light rather than direct flash.

I am by no means an expert but those little tips have helped me immensely.

yah i know, its a little ridiculous, its like that because you can look underneath it to view through the iron sites. its actually pretty cool.
 
I had one for a while years ago. Bought it at a auction where they didn't allow you to work actions before you bought them in Alberta. Turned out the one bar on the action was broken and there was not way to get a new part. Gunsmith in Edmonton TIG welded it for me and then I put it back together and traded it off to him for a Savage. Always wondered if anybody had trouble with that gun again.
 
They are a decent rifle and are a bit uncommon in that chambering, capable of hunting accuracy but not a target rifle for sure. But like someone else said you a post '64 rifle in good to very good condition, it is likely worth $500-600 to the right buyer. I have a post '64 M100 and M88 both in 308, I will sell neither one of them because one was my Dad's and the other was my father in law's, one will go to each of my boys for them to remember their grandpas and maybe shoot a deer or a bear or a moose.

If you want to see just how good the gun has been kept over the years and if you feeling adventurous. Take the 100 all a part to see if A) the firing pin recall has been done and, B) how much rust is on the gas system parts as they where very prone to rusting. Some model years used stainless steel parts others did not. They are tricky to take apart and even trickier to get back together. Best ship it off to "Guntech". First thing he will do is take off that Bushnell Banner Scope and rings and toss them in the garbage.
