No parts changed...........I reshaped the grip with rasp, file, and sandpaper, and the lower tang with careful filing and wet sandpaper for the right contour, and then re-blue.
The lever was heated with a propane torch and slowly bent straight with large wooden dowels in the ends to maintain the round radius. Sounds crazy but worked like a charm.
I know that some people frown at modifications to good guns, with good reason, but as I get older I want things a certain way, and it really doesn't look Bubba'd. It looks like a Winchester '86 Extra lite from 1905.
I reload .348 using Hornady 200 gr. jacketed bullets over 45 gr. Reloder 7 with a Lee Factory Crimp die.
