Kinda like these SXP's after a shot a trap gun a while back.

Anyone know of a stockist in Canada? I cannot find the Defender 18" version only the Extreme.

What's the aftermarket like for this gun?

Are they anygood?

Thanks allot guys. Some positive feed back.

Any aftermarket stocks etc? It's a gun that never gets any coverage compaired to the Mossy & 870's.

Interesting shotgun.
Spring assist pump
Rotating bolt
Capable of very fast rapid fire
Alloy receiver
No after market stocks
Older Winchester furniture will not fit.
Been wanting one for a little while....

Spring assist pump? Is that new?

I had and SXP defender a few years back, but it didn't have the spring assist.

They just released a new Desert beige couloured version at Shot Show. Looks pretty sweet.

I bought the basic Defender SXP at Le Baron last November. Normally I don't like to buy guns from there but it was on sale for 10% off, and it came out to $316 taxes in. I couldn't walk away from that deal.

Glad I got it then as it's up to about $370 + tax now.

I think the aftermarket parts selection is pretty much non existent though.

They were supposed to be introducing a 20ga version too.

Sounds more like a gas assist than a spring assist. Taken from Winchester's website:

"Four massive lugs provide support, strength and solid lockup in the receiver of the lightning-fast Super X® Pump. Under recoil the mass of your body begins to slow the rearward travel of the shotgun, while the inertia of the bolt, slide and forearm continue cycling the action to help you get a head start on your next shot. Dual steel action guide bars channel and eliminate twisting, binding, wasted time and energy when cycling the action."

Right ^^^ I didn't have one in my hands at the time to see a physical spring, but knew there was some factor that helped with the rearward momentum of the forend slide after firing a round.

If you are interested, Rouge Valley has my Winchester 1300 Defender for sale on consignment - it is like new, and has a Choate pistol-grip type stock. I had two of them, and this one was never used. It's one I bought in the late 1980's.

Thanks allot fellas.

Payday tomorrow. Now I need to find a Basic 18" defender in stock somewhere.

Thanks for the offer Jim but I like the look of the latest SXP's.

I own 2 camp combos. They are worth the extra money over the defender.

There are some aftermarket parts coming out. Cabelas had some when i was there last week.

Is your heart set on a brand new in box SXP Defender from a retailer?

Only reason I ask is because the SXP Defender's do come up in the EE from time to time.
