I was very surprised to say the least after I tried some of the winchester usa brand 45gr JHP in my 22-250. I bought them at walmart for about $32 a box of 40 which is the cheapest stuff around here. I bought them mainly for the brass but decided to punch some paper with them. Well they beat some of my handloads! I was getting honest to god .3" groups at 100 yards. I let my dad try some in his rifle and he found the same thing to be true. I'm using a savage and he has a rem 788. I've had decent luck with other factory ammo but for the bargain basement brand to shoot that well, I was just blown away. I don't even know if I should handload for that gun anymore or if I should just buy the cheap stuff
.
