Hey everyone,

Just wanted to leave a quick introduction. I'm from Winnipeg Canada and just recently stumbled onto your website.

I'm currently a student in my third year of mechanical engineering and I've started developing an interest in target rifle. I'm hoping to pick up a .22 come summertime to learn the basics, mind you, I'm totally new to this and have never fired a rifle so go easy on me, we'll be fixing that soon enough :)

What piqued my interest was the whole idea that ballistics will allow an individual to hit a target from extreme distances, even a kilometer away. As an engineering student, the math and physical principals behind projectile trajectory really click with me and seemed like a fun, practical way to start using the things they teach in the classroom. Call me a nerd :)

Eventually I hope to try shooting trap/skeet as well as hunting and target shooting with a handgun however, with Canadian firearm legislation as it is, I'm not sure if it's worth the trouble.

Anyway, that's me in a nutshell, pleasure to meet you all!

Greetings from St.James.

Come check out the Manitoba Provincial Rifle Association in the Spring to put that math into practice and meet some great people.

Welcome aboard.

Cheers from Niverville dude... I graduated UBC Mechanical Engineering in 1994 and am a Journeyman Millwright... enjoy your excellent career path :)

Funny thing for me, I dont work in the field and never did get a payday as an Engineer...

Wow, such a warm welcome, thanks everyone! Great to see the community is friendly to the new blood, this seems like it'll be a pretty fun club :)

GSoD - The MPRA was actually one of the first organizations I was looking into, I'll be checking them out as soon as I get my license.

MudChucker - Another Mechie? ERTW! UBC is a good place, I actually considered going there coming out of high school. It's been a lot of work to get this far but I'm looking forward to starting my career as a professional.

Ontgunner - Thanks for the welcome. I did a bit of reading into reloading; you're right, I'm probably going to enjoy getting into that as well. Thanks for the suggestion!

Winnipeg Toymaker -I have yet to try those things but I'm sure I'll enjoy it the same. I know for sure that competition will be one of the highlights for me.

Weldboss - I like how you think sir. Also, your signature is epic :D
