Hi guys, thought id throw just a couple photos from a successful hunt last week.
I've hunted high an low over Winter, Seen a lot of big Deer but didn't lower the boom on any.
Spring has arrived an the Big Stags are getting horny, chasing around a few does which are on Eustros.
I had a nice morning hunting some Private farm land, when this guy stepped out at 350ms
I checked him out briefly an decided it was worth getting a little closer an trying to get a shot at him
At 250 odd meters I could set up an had time to range the area where he was likely to pop out into a clearing, I had to wait about 20 minutes for it to feed along through the scrub until it stepped out..
at 230ms I let a 150gr Corelokt Rip... The report back was awesome! Thump.
The deer fell over an thrashed around a bit, I waited 15 minutes before making my way up the gulley to where the Deer was..... As I snuck around I look to where the animal should lay... an Found NOTHING!!
Ahhhh heck I thought!
All I found was flattened blackberrys an a bit of mud from his body, No blood... just running marks contouring across the hill.
I followed the running marks an eventually 60m away I found a speck of blood, The blood got a little thicker an bubbly So I figured a Lung was in trouble.
Another 50ms following marks I heard the shrub moving infront, so I backed out 10ms an go a better view!
All of a sudden a Hind burst out from the Wattles an right behind her , Was the Stag.... As they burst I let another Go into the stag an connected with a Neck shot, it was lights out an Game On!
Heres a photo of the big beast, he went 28 inches.
Absolutely wrapped to end winter on such a great note!
cheers
