With the scarcity of PMags, might we actually consider using...TAPCO!?

One thing I have noticed about Tapco mags, is that they are a bit fatter than standard Pmags or GI's, so you can't fit 2 into a double magazine pouch that doesn't have the ability to stretch. Something you might want to consider if you're on the fence about these.

Tapco AR mags are not too difficult to take apart without drilling. As you know, there is a button that sits in a hole on the inside of the floor plate. This is held in position by the spring. If you hold the magazine upside down in your dominant hand and give it a good smack with the feed lips into the palm of your other hand, you will hear the button and spring snap down and then back up into place. What you are wanting to do, is start the base plate off when the button is out of the floor plate. This is simply a matter of a sharp enough smack into your palm, and timing starting the base plate off. It may take you 20 or 30 tries to get it the first time. Once you get it a few times it gets easier. I do it all the time now without thinking about it.

going to try it now.

I have a current Gen. No drilling required at all.

And 8 Ball blew it. To me this is a "To n00b or not to n00b" situation. A quick search of Tapco would reveal that I've described the process before. You'd even find the thread where another member told me how to do it, hah.

Anyway, yeah, you're going to get a sore palm getting the technique down.
Otherwise, bang it against a carpet floor or something for quick gratification.

They work ok.
Kind of like a fat chick, no one wants to admit anything.

The original batch didn't fall free, so they thinned them down a touch.
They are a decent value.

haha, success. I just about bruised my hand trying it and not getting it, but I realized that I was just having a severe brain fart. I was trying to start the plate first thinking that it would be easier to push aside if it was already in a bit, but of course the locking nub binds on it so that's why I couldn't get it. I pushed it back all the way and got it in two tries. Just make sure you reset the floor plate each time and you're good. Now I can armorall these babies haha!

Yeah, you need to make sure the plate is reset each time or it will bind. Smacking it on carpet or a glove or something till you get it down pat is probably a good idea too.

yeah about 4 whacks on thew hand was enough for me. smacked it on the reload bench onto a rag, and 2 taps and it was out. Very cool, thanks for that. Mine must be older, cause they dont have a hole with a button on the bottom. it is inside, once you open it you can see. You could finish the hole to make it easier to clean.

Love the limiter, LOL
In case of zombies, break plastic. hahahh
