If you plan on exporting this rifle to the US and overseas eventually you should not base your decision on the 5 or 10 round mag limitations.
I think an AK mag version would be a nice alternative and you will reach a much wider base, even just in Canada.
I'm sure the aftermarket, or you would take care of building and making money off of AR mag adapters.

I don't understand the whole redesign will cost more bit people are talking about. This rifle had to be designed as well... it is not an exact replica, some things are different and needed design time and they are still $995. Designing a mag well is not rocket science and cnc's cut what they are told too... no new tooling is required

If a new frt is required for the AK version you could start making ×39 uppers as a conversion kit in the meantime and everyone is happy.

And how many 7.62x39 AR got sold? It is quite pothetic. Yet, before M+M and NS fiasco, M+M potential availability created a storm of requests for AK mags. Something to keep in mind.

What does pothetc mean? I'm not familiar with the term, or M+M fiasco or NS. What are you trying to say?

I've had no issues running LAR 7.62x39 mags.

Seems to me the normal development of a variant from an existing design would follow the path of simple to complex.

7.62X38 Variant

Step 1 - Build new upper only.
Step 2 - Test the crap out of it with XCR magazines - Sell the resulting product (New guns and conversion uppers) to fund Step 3.
Step 3 - Once sufficient manufacturing numbers have been achieved selling original .223 version and new 7.62 version proceed to step 4.
Step 4 - Build the "world version" using AK magazines by redesigning lower.

I believe the point of the whole exercise is to determine if there is sufficient interest in Step 4. However, I have been known to be wrong in the past.
Step 3 would be a given during the normal development process.

Not to sure I understand the STANAG issue people are chiming in with. Might be a problem with 30-40 round magazines and the required curvature to maintain correct alignment with 7.62X39.
However, at 10 rounds , the XCR magazines are the same length as the "Straight" portion of the curved magazines. Have never had an issue using them (all 10 rounds) with my B&T conversion of my CZ 858.
Work like a charm.

Ahahahahhahahahahhahaa. Drum mags. And you’ve got two! Pinned to 5 rounds! Oh you poor thing. Thats the saddest thing I’ve seen on CGN this month.

You’ve spent so long withy the AK mags you’ve got Stockholm Syndrome.

In stead of thinking you know your ####, why not ask him what rifle he has that uses AK mags???? It's a rifle some people dream about owning 1 of not too mention having 2 of that same said rifle

The greatest mag whore would be the one who bought all the AK mags everywhere. We'd tip our hats. Conversely, buying out rarer propietary mags so nobody else can have any is douchey. That's mag whoreding to be a dink.

So what you are saying is no one is a mag whore cuz nobody bought up all the AK mags to begin with but now back peddling to what you were saying before is hypocritical.

But really a dink needs to justify what others do ;-)
