WK180c Practical Review with Pics and Video

I have put about 500-600 rounds through mine to date. I had the tight chamber issues as well. Had Kodiak ream the chamber on warranty and mine runs fine now. I use the plastic MFT 10 round pistol mags, as well as the RRA metal 10 round pistol mags. Both run fine and quite reliable. Mine is serial #225 so early in production.

What serial number is considered later (enough) in production? I'm having issues feeding from LAR (metal) mags as well... :yingyang:

No idea. All the ones being manufactured now are chambered to 5.56 not .223 Wylde. So there should be no chambering issues now. I have no idea about the mag issues. I installed a Norgon Ambi mag release on mine and the mags catch and retain and drop free. They seem to work fine feeding from both the MFT plastic and the RRA metal pistol mags on mine.

Aye.
The rifle is extremely reliable with hera and MFT mags for me as well.
Just no go at all with any metal ones and I've tried 5 different common brands/types

That being said, with the lar15 mags, if I keep constant steady upwards pressure on the mag once it's inserted then it will function perfectly

Which like griffin has shown as well is 100% the issue. The mags sit too low in the receiver. I'm thinking the location or placement of the mag catch cutouts may be too low.
So they either designed the receiver around the plastic mags which he also showed are a couple thou higher than the steel ones or it may be something else. Just a bad large run of receivers before they may or may not have corrected the location of the catch?
Im only speculating as to why/how it happened here

And okay, I'm forwarding this now; now that we can clearly see this is an extremely common issue, will kodiak acknowedge it and replace lowers for the many of us with this issue?
I will gladly keep the rifle if it functioned with all STANAG mags.

And also like #### am I paying shipping again this time......

Also my serial is 0098
Can anyone with the no feed issue with normal ar mags please post theirs?

As already posted mine is 225. Mind you I have only used the MFT plastic and the metal RRA pistol mags on mine. Haven't used any others. However I also take my new metal pistol mags and clip 1/2of a coil off the springs and use emery cloth to smooth the sharp edges of the feed lips which I find makes them operate much smoother.

My add has the full disclaimer if you're aluding to me.
I don't think you are. I'm not a greasy weasel like some around these boards....
Anyhow I'm contacting kodiak defense by email again tomorow and we'll see what the consensus is.

I truly believe you've given most every effort to try and make things work; I was just comiserating, not attempting a criticism/insult.

I just wish there was an easy fix, like a $100 drop-in part...

My old Ar180bs were awesome as well.
I only ever let them go as parts were unobtanium and I didn't want to end up with a 2200 paperweight.
Actually on my second one shooting it in cold weather, the nub on the back plate of the op spring guides that keeps the upper receiver closed sheered off during firing. It looked like Chinese pot metal inside!
I managed to source a spare in the US and had to literally go to grey sketchy expensive areas to get it.....lol it was sold very shortly after

Yes that is true but with RWA making new replacement parts for the 180b this will never be an issue again

Mine was 119, but I was 7th in the Wanstall order, so got mine long ago.

Haven't sent mine in, but it runs AE, PPU, Barnaul's, PMC, and Federal Green Tips fine.

I had some really old RRA LAR-15 Mags that don't work (they work only for the first round, but can't feed the next round), the follower is seated much lower though.

But I have no issues running TNA's 10/30 metal mags, MFT LAR-15 mags, Magpul Gen2 Pmags, Lancer Mags, Hera Mags.

Already shot over a thousand, no issues yet!

My friend got his in August/September and his has no issues and feed the RRA LAR-15 mags no problem as well, so I'm slightly jealous about that but it's OK, I use those in my MCX instead haha.

I dropped in a Geissele G2S, a CTR Stock, and MOE-K without any modification needed.

I don't really want to bother getting it sent in to Kodiak as I fear getting it reamed, etc... to feed the RRA mags, while causing it to ruin something else? (since that is literally my only issue IMO)

Thankfully the RRA Mags that don't feed, I got those free from a friend anyways lol.

I've sent a message direct to Kodiak again.
I'll post the reply when I get one.
My only real question is how do we get it fixed or money back at this point.
I'm pessimistic after seeing replies to griffins similar enquiries on here.

If you had to speculate, would you say the Norgon piece made more of a difference than the chamber reaming?
