A farmer friend of mine has been losing calves to wolves this past week so we've been out there every day since. Early this morning, while I wasn't there, two came in and were eating at the bait. My buddy waited until they both were inline and took a shot. The farther of the two dropped from what we later found out was a spine shot and the closer one took off. So, we were out there this evening and noticed a bald eagle and a vulture or two hanging around a low spot behind the bait. We decided to take a walk down there to see what the fuss was about, and once we did we found the second wolf. Turns out he killed two wolves with one shot from exactly 140 yards. I was impressed. The second wolf only made it about 125 yards from the bait, but it was in a creek so it may have bedded down in the water. Both wolves were a good size between 80 and 100 pounds and looked to be very healthy, its a shame we have to take them, but the cattle takes priority. Anyways, i thought i'd share. I'll be back out there tommorrow so i'll update this thread if anything exciting happens.
