Would one be able to install a a2 front sight post on the barrel in conjunction with a carry handle? Or because of the piston the sight would be to low to use?
Just wondering on build ideas

That's about as clearly stated as possible. Great post.

Mine should be around #100. Can't wait to poke some hole in 'yotes this summer. Hats off to the crews at Wolverine and Kodiak. ~7lbs, 2MOA and <$1000. the new Canadian must-have rifle.

Cheers,
GMC

how does one know what # they are in the order Q?

Not quite so simple. The Criminal Code says a firearm is restricted if it is prescribed to be restricted. The relevant Regulations prescribe as restricted, "The firearm of the design commonly known as the M-16 rifle, and any variant or modified version of it"

This is the key point of concern...will this new firearm get treated like the non-restricted AR-180B types, or like the restricted AR-15/AR-10 variants, or the prohibited AR-180? Given the existence of the BCL102 it seems plausible to get NR (as it should), but the classification of the Blaze47 raises concerns.

The criminal code says no such thing. The firearms act does.

Apples and oranges when you throw out the blaze. Mitchell Arms AK22.

And more oranges with AR15 variant with lab saying ar180b isn't, and then reinforces that decision with the nodak.

An A2 sight will not work as you need the piston gas block. You could use a same plane BUIS on the rail along with a carry handle just make sure you get the correct matching height.

If it looks like the concept drawing I'd be In Like Flint.

Though... I may hold off as the rifle evolves though time. If all goes well there is sure to be a MkII.

Seeing that the rifle will accept AR15 barrels, I wonder how ideal a midlength gas system would be?

Reason being, how many commonly available AR15 barrels have a midlength gas system with a length that would class the rifle NR? Most prefit barrels with a midlength gas port, are going to be 18" which is just shy of NR length. Would a rifle length system make more sense if we want to swap out barrels with other offerings?

Add 1000 rifles to your cart, and the number of remaining available will show up. When I did after buying, there were 900 left at Wolverine. I can't account for rifles sold at other retailers, but I'm near 100.

Nice theory but flawed I am afraid. Dosent work for this order due to the way the orders work within our system.
I am sure we can provide an update on numbers tomorrow when we are back in the office. Nothing to hide here

Maple Ridge Armoury makes 18.6" barrels with a mid length gas system. I have one sitting around that I tried out on something else but is not being used anymore. It seems to be a good quality barrel. Hopefully from what has been said so far it fits into this rifle perfectly.

If I wasn't building a slr I would have jumped on board. Suffice to say those 1000 would move fast. You said the preorder is for 300 units? And awating info on the 7.62x39 model. Would it take xcr or ak mags?
