Wolverine's WK181-C...

Hold on, if there is a pistol version of the wk181 wouldn't a 10 rnd AK mag be A ok then???? Now there is literally a pistol that takes AK mags readily available in the country!!!!

I'm hopefully, as I was not successful with my import of the first CMMG Mutant pistol a few years back

If Kodiac manufactures a mag for it, probably.

I suspect, given the focus of the WK180 and the WK181 being non-restricted, that they will be very reluctant to sell a pistol variant of either in Canada. The pistol variant is likely intended for the States alone, as they mentioned tailoring the variants to the country they are exporting to. Even if they do choose to do so, they said in the video they had to fill out their backlog of pre-orders first.

In the meantime, if you absolutely need 10 rounds of 7.62x39, you can run the new upper with the old lower and use a 10 round XCR pistol magazine.

'Playing smart' to stoke one platform will cost two. Lab rats work for the disarmament agenda.

Over on the Code of Arms Video WK181-C thread on Reddit, user Krazee9 posted the following:
Krazee9 on Reddit said:
I doubt it. The LAR was a lucky mistake that they're not going to make again. See: CZ-858 pistol.

The site's gone, but a dude imported a Vz 58 pistol. The RCMP declared the magazine "dual-use" and mandated it pinned to 5. Pretty much any future guns are going to encounter the same thing.

So LAR-15 and XCR Pistol magazines are "grandfathered" under their prior approvals, but I agree with Krazee9, going forward any new pistol magazine that also fits a "scary" rifle will be marked as dual use by the RCMP and limited to five rounds. So having a WK181-C pistol and its associated stamped magazines imported to Canada wouldn't help get 10 round AK compatible magazines. I agree with Deckard, Wolverine and Kodiak are right to be wary in selling any restricted variant of the WK in Canada, lest the whole family be named as restricted, like the AR family.

There is a lot of misinformation posted in several previous posts.

The area of magazine regulations is very confused and often opinions are stated as law, by both sides!

I have never heard of any magazines that have been "Grandfathered" under prior approval! Not saying it is not true but would need to see something in writing before passing that on.

Lol thank you for clearing that up John!!!!! Some of it is just amusing to read.

Hmmm, what about the xcr, vz58, acr, swiss arms, sg540's, and the list goes on.......

And that's not how the AR came to be restricted

The "Whiskey Kilo's" a farmer's "coyote spade". Nuff sed.

And what????? How does having a restricted version of it "jeopardize" the non restricted versions, please explain that to me

So then any firearm tha has a NR & R designation could be named restricted even tho they meet all parameters to keep them in the NR classification just for the sake that they have a restricted barrel length version??????!?!?!?!??!

Sorry, I shouldn't have used the word "Grandfathered". I just meant that 10 round pistol magazines previously approved for pistols that also happens to fit a rifle will likely remain legal, but that going forward under the current regulatory climate that this is unlikely to occur with new firearms.

That's the AR family restriction in a nutshell. You could have an AR-15 with a non-restricted barrel length that meets all the other non-restricted requirements, but it is restricted by name. By the same token, anything other the Valmet rifle derived from the AK-47 is outright prohibited in Canada. Both restrictions have no basis in rationality, but are purely based on the fear of "scary" looking military-esque rifles. That same fear could be turned against the WK, the XCR, et-al, either by name, or by making the gun laws even more restrictive, like California.

No you cant have a NR AR as it is a named variant of ANY restricted. I dont think you really follow how the law goes on this matter (even with how skewed it is I know) but it's not the case for this.

Wolverine bringing in a restricted version (which isnt named on the FRT as any variant being restricted) only tries to help bring in a PISTOL version for said 10 rnd mags and if that doesnt fly in the eyes of the rcmp and labeled as a dual purpose mag would result in the PISTOL version being stuck with 5 mags no matter what.
That is all

These can't be too far off at this point. Looking forward to seeing them for sale. I would love to do a review on this one to accompany my review on the 5.56 version.

Hoping for a light profile barrel as well. Just makes the gun so much more handy.

Yup couldn't agree more, light profile will be way more handy

With the below the SNC radar renewal of our training missions in Ukraine and Iraqi Kurdistan, would the WK181-C with a match grade barrel make a good designated marksman rifle for the forces we are training? They would share the same round and magazine, while allowing use of AR15 bipods, optics, stocks, hiders and othe DMResque accessories with the gun. I know a Canadian manufacturer sent a batch of full sniper rifles to Ukraine. Would the WK181-C make a good DMR in the same vein to support our allies in Ukraine and Kurdistan?

I really appreciate the effort of your posts and the detail you go into, but this made laugh my f***ing a$$ off for real!

762x39 is not a DMR caliber......but if you want a dmr the M10x is the one!!!:nest::stirthepot2:Laugh2Laugh2
