Woman beats trained falcon to death

I have a friend who is a falconer in California, she runs into ases like this all the time. It iscan interesting sport, her latest is a red tail . What alot of people dont understand about the hobby is that for the bird must develop a trust bond with the handler and this is the art form. If the bond is not there, the first time off the leather in free flight the bird can just leave. It is the bird's choice to hunt and come back to the handler.
I hope this woman goes away along time.

Sounds like she was trying to shoo the Falcon off the duck and didn't realize how fragile they are. Said she "feels bad about killing someone's pet" not that she is against falconry. Just an idiot, doesn't sound malicious or anti hunting.

I hope they don't accept ignorance as an excuse.

For all we know she is a rare bird poacher and should be treated as such.

I hope she tries to save a rabbit from a bear in the near future.

to save a duck? really?

I'd have killed the bird if it had gone for one of my dogs, but a duck is just a prey animal..

Bearded Scarf?

maybe the scarf had a tactical Chris Costa type beard....poor falcon wouldn't have stood a chance

And only criminals will have scarves. snicker.
Be interesting to see the results of the law suit. Trained falcons are pricey wee birds. $1,000 US for a male. $3500US for a girly. Untrained.

A bad outcome for Falcon and a lady that does not want to see anything die ..wrong place and time for both
