Wood or the Plastic rifle stocks

Here are some other firearms that we have, Weatherby's, Coopers and others. Most we kept, some we sold or traded. As mentioned prior, I like both kinds of gun stocks, however, favor the wood. We have many other firearms, but only showing these, for now.

I do not mind plastic stocks like the ones on a Savage Axis it never gave me any issues or reasons to upgrade - have a model 12FV stock (blind magazine) for a possible future build. Basically, the stock the rifle came with is good enough.

Beautiful wood is hard to beat but at the same time, I hunted with a Christensen Arms rifle last year that had a carbon fiber composite stock and carbon fiber barrel and that damned thing was pretty tough to beat.

But still...

Really depends what type of person you are. Some guys just see a gun as a tool, could give a damn. Some guys(everybody knows at least one) gouge, break, drop, mangle anything they touch. Those types need synthetic and stainless.
However, wood looks the best and feels the best.It also does well with recoil.I have T3x superlite 30-06 with plastic stock that is brutal to shoot, while I have a wood stock t3x in 300 Win mag that is only 6 ounces heavier and it is fine. When cold out, wood is much nicer to hold as well.Nice wood is hard to beat.

Most of the time I prefer wood stocks....

The rifle appears to be a BSA action, is it? Great wood grain!

Nice stock, Big Ugly Man! Some real beauties in this thread.

I've had some nicer wood stocked rifles...still have the Model 70 Sporter here but not the Super Grade. Appreciate nice wood, but I tend to more often carry synthetic.

I found my Tupperware stock not to be rigid, my rifle shot much better after I put it in a wood stock. Tupperware moves a lot with temperature. There is a saying " I don't date ugly women, I don't hunt with a ugly rifle."
