Wood, synth, laminate, SS or blued for you?

Wood or laminate feels better to me, but I really like the stock on my Finnlight:)

I'm not picky on blued or stainless, but the latter is less likely to show scratches.

I like the look and feel of walnut and rust blue. Of course it helps that i can use the rifle in hostile environments and when I get it home refinish and reblue if necessary(haven't had to yet).

I don't like laminate because it's generally too heavy compared to the other choices. It looks ok though.

I could easily be talked into a high quality synthetic stock on one of my Mausers but I'd probably still stay with the rust bluing-it's really tough.

IMO, the prettiest rifle (factory built) that i ever had eyes on was a ruger 1H stainless/laminate in 416 rigby. i prefer the feel of wood, but cant beat the ruggedness of a good synthetic stock for real world hunting.

nothing looks better then blued metal and a nice piece of wood but i'm to clumsy for wood so it's stainless and synthetic for me. eventually i think i'll buy a laminate and stainless gun

My personal favourite is a well used blued/walnut rifle. Somthing about that nice patina that shows up after honest wear makes me warm inside.:D
