Would this be frowned upon?

This is my 1911 Kimber with custom grips, my question is.. would it be frowned upon at an IPSC match?
Yes. Kimbers are not allowed! Rule 6.12.3b IIRC. Kimbers are dangerous!

So you cannot shoot it in Production.

Were you sleeping in class?
He was dreaming about how he was going to kick butt in Production with a single action 1911 !

I have a

on my ammo bag and nobody has given me grief over it.
WOW! What is wrong with the people you shoot with?! If you were in BC we would be all over it! :p

if your going to discriminate because of what a person wears whats next, no fat people...
Ya and there goes the whole sport!!

... but I swear to god and you guys are my witness, I am goign to shoot at least 1 stage at the bc provincials without my shirt on ;) ;)
PLEASE tell me your shooting IDPA and NOT IPSC ! !

Grips

The grips came from Ebay, and I swear Elmer Fudd must have been in my class. Yes I was dreaming about kicking butt in production with my 1911. Oh well have to kick butt with my Beretta instead.

Naw he shoots them both. He can go topless on a Standard exercise as cover garments are not required in IDPA when shooting Standard Exercises. God help us all if he wears pink panites, too.:D

Take Care

It was more about the attitude that accompanied the clothing then the clothing itself. Since the bloodthirsty wannabes and armchair warriors got the message they would not fit in with the jovial, fun atmosphere and moved on to other shooting games - nobody seems to care as much - although 5.3.1 still exists if we need it.

The Grips are fine. You might get hassled by the number of people asking where to get them, though. ;)

What about the attitude the people with the custom nylon polo shirts with DVC and IPSC Competitor blah blah on them and matching hats with flames on them give to the new people?

Any issues with that?

;)

I hate to agree with 5y, but he does have a point, half the ipsc pictures I have seen look like recent entries into torontos ### pride parade.... not that there is anything wrong with that. ;) ;)

You know for somone who pretends not to care what people wear...you sure seem to be concerned about other peoples shooting wardrobe...

I don't think anybody would be offended. It is a cartoon caracter.

That would go nicely with a "Hello Kitty" AR.......

No issues at all. But when I first opened the links on Youtube to some of the IPSC vids that showed everyone wearing Carnival Colourful stretch jerseys and Spandex pants I thought I'd gotten a Tour de France vid by accident..... :D

Must have missed something

Due to past posts I thought westicle was Anti IPSC and pro idpa

I am not anti any shooting sport, I done joined the enemy and am now or soon to be an IPSC member.... ;) ;)

I may never shoot it since travel distance and cash flow is to far, but I support the sport.... if I do my black badge it will probably be in calgary at TSE rather then in BC

I just do not support stupid rules..... you cannot shoot if wearing camo.... to me that is disrespect to our fighting men and women who wear that every day they serve.

I can see a ban on "racist" or "inappropriate" clothing..... but camo, come on.... 10% of the canadian population wears it to work everyday (armed forces approx 300k strong)

as was posted the ban came about because of the wearers "attitude".... well fine, ban stupid people, don't throw the baby out with the bath water.

You are reading WAY too much into rule 5.3.1
The rule book covers all regions in the world
In some Regions may have a problem others do not

Some people wear T shirts that may be quite offensive to some
The MD has final say as to if its offensive which makes the decision Regional
This also helps when dealing with what is locally acceptable

Camo clothing is causing quite the kerfuffle tonight, to me, I don't find it fashionable at all and never wear it in public, only when hunting. For IDPA, I'll stick with my plain jane tan colours.

Having said that, most guys shooting at my club wear some sort of camo all the time, it wouldn't offend me in the least to see someone wearing it.

Why would you want to wear your workclothes to an IPSC match? It is a shooting sport. I would rather be comfortable wearing a breathable shirt and shorts,..and sneakers or light hikers. There is a reason for it,...do a google search. IF a person in the military or LE cares to wear it to a match,..than as long as the holster and mag rules are adhered to,..I believe it is encouraged!!

You right Maurice.
We in IPSC wear certain clothes, some for look, some for comfort, some for both. I like those tight shirts, because they allow me to draw gun without worrying about catching on material. Some guys, can't wear those slick looking Under Armor shirts because they bit to fat, they are embarras to show their figure.
For me I don't care what guys are wearing, as long it is right in safety department and doesn't cause a problems on political spectrum.
After all, this is sport not military school.
If I wanna wear army paints, I can join army.:)

wes

just a note for you. if you do you BB in Alberta, you must have prior approval of the BC Section Coordinator. This is because you must be a member of the section you live in before you can belong to any other section.

It is much easier to get permission ahead of time then after the fact.
