Got mine today!!

I'm pretty sure I must be one of the last guys to receive my M213. I had a few issues with my RPAL ATT but its all in the past now! I was planning to upload some pictures today but the GF took my camera (without permission) and now the cord to link it to the PC has vanished:D!! Anyway mine is in pretty decent shape and I can pull the slide back without the hammer cocked without too much effort which is a nice surprise since I have read many complaints on here that its really stiff. I did notice that if the hammer is a the half cocked position the slide is locked in place and will not move at all (perhaps this is the situation some have run into?). My plans for the gun are as follows:

1. Removal of the safety and offensive UN markings.

2. Skeletonize and nickel plate the trigger.

3. Nickel plate the hammer and outside of the barrel (if possible)

4. Give the rough internal edges a nice once over as well as any other parts that can be dulled down or polished by hand to make the action, feed and trigger pull smoother.

5. Find (or make if possible) a set of those beautiful wood grips the one fellow 50 + posts ago made for his amazing bronze looking M213. I mean no offense to the guy who is graciously bringing the rubber "combat" grips in for us but I really dislike the look of the gun with them installed.

This is my first restricted and I am hoping to learn lots from working on this gun. I see that many of you have already done many (if not all) of the mods I am planning but I have not been able to find any DIY write ups on how they were accomplished? I'm going to set up a thread for DIY mods and hopefully some of you will post info for those of us wanting to learn how to do the mods ourselves? I cant wait to take her to the range!! (Pics to come!)

Huge thanks to Mike and the guys at Canada Ammo for bringing these in and selling them to us for a great price as well as having patience with me and my RPAL/ATT issues!

I got a M-201 tokaregpyt ( better grip angle , same gun ), it works good. Plug'n play, bit crudely finished but fed it couple hundred rounds and can hit coffee cans @ 25 paces. No nail driver but a fun gun. Eat's reloads and hollow point too. 260$ to your door w/ extra clip... pretty fun I'd say

Will this compensator / muzzle brake actually help with recoil and maybe improve accuracy, or is it just for looks?
It cuts down on muzzle flip a LOT with my 7.62x25 and the 9x23 Winchester barrels. It doesn't have as much an effect with regular 9x19 Luger as with the higher powered stuff, but it still is definitely a significant difference. I could get faster follow up shots with the 9x19 Luger.
I bought several in 7.62 from the US supplier when he was going out of business, and reamed one out for the 9mm barrels.

I have to say I am very pleased with the Tokarev pistol as a concealed carry gun. I pulled the grip panels for carry. Without the grip panels the pistol is something like 8/10ths of an inch wide, very easy to conceal. I then wrapped the grip with tape, with a small piece of rosewood (shaped to hold the trigger stirrup from falling out of line) under the tape. Some guys say they have a problem with the stirrup coming out of line with aftermarket grips without the shelf, but I never had a problem with it. This piece of rosewood was just to make sure it doesn't happen to me.
The pistol easily carries in a coat pocket without printing, and I generally carry it with a clipdraw on my belt. I also use a smart carry holster in the summer. I'm working on modifying the right front pocket of a pair of loose jeans to hold the pistol in place for pocket carry, somewhat similar to what they have you do with the smart carry holster. I carry it on half ####, and finish cocking it on the draw.
I've owned the 213 since 1992, and now I own 4 additional Toks. I love these pistols, they are the best value in a pistol I've ever found. Entirely reliable, accurate, and strong. I had over 55,000 rounds through one without a hiccup. The 9x23 Winchester modification is remarkably cheap and easy, and gives me .357 Magnum power in an easily concealed autoloader.

I must say, after having feed over 700 rounds thru it, its still going, and its not too shabby for groups i must say. A bit crude, yes. But i would prefer a M213 over a knife in a fight anyday :D:D

And i can abuse it all day and not worry about it :D

I just got mine a month ago. I figured I was the last one! Well best of luck with the modifications, I'll be keeping an eye on them.

LOL thanks man. All I have done so far is remove the safety (not even a day at the range so far). What are people using to fill in the hole and dents the safety is removed from?

I used Epoxy putty, then sanded it flush. Couldnt even tell there use to be a hole.

Then I sand blasted my gun, ruined the epoxy, and covered the hole with the rubber grip, so it doesnt matter anymore.

I'm guessing these were a 1 time deal? I write my restricted test tomorrow and would like a starter handgun without dropping 1000. I was surprised by the quality of the norcs I handled during my class.
