Bought one yesterday! I've been debating for a while and finally decided to get one, shouldve made up my mind a month ago it wouldve been here now!

Planning on making my own wood grips too once i get the gun, and a few extra ones that will probably go on the EE.

How do you remove the external safety? Has anyone done it? What did you use to fill the holes in? I find its location uncomfortable and want to get rid of it.

The external safety removal is a joke.. all you need is a tiny flathead screwdriver and a hand with at least two fingers remaining. :p

Basically all you need to do is to unscrew the two tiny screws next to the external safety and turn the external safety lever clockwise until it falls out on its' own. it is not screwed in or anything and simply has a latch on the inside that holds it in place (uber-simple design, pretty much like the rest of the pistol). That's it!

;)

well mine was ordered dec 31st and I still dont have a processed even after calling and them telling me it would be processed that night, seriously wtf is going on?

Well, they stop relpying on my emails a few weeks ago as soon as I asked for MY transfer # :jerkit:

Mine showed up today, I placed the order on Dec.18/08. I'm happy with the purchase, in all fairness we are buying just about as cheap as a cheap man can buy. So when you think about the amount of profit each pistol has you cannot expect that a Rolls Royce will pull up to your door to deliver your prize. I was also pleasantly surprised with the look and feel of this thing, to be honest with you I'm no fan of buying from places like China, but figured if I was going to ##### I should atleast own some thing from there.

Might have to bite my tongue a bit in the future. Nah that won't happen.;)

Question... not familiar with the design (or any semi-auto... I'm a wheelgunner :) ). I've had it apart, cleaned it up, smoothed some edges, etc. Back together, with the slide back, the barrel is quite loose. Front-back & left-right. Didn't notice it pre-cleaning so not sure if this is normal.

Nope No good, you broke it, its garbage, tell yah what, i will give yah $50 for shipping and just send it to my home and stick to wheel guns :D:D

it should be fine, mine was a bit loose, but then again, HOW loose are we taling about here? did you align the hole in the slide and barrel to the take down lever?

So for a complete newbie (as far as striping a semi down and cleaning/polishing) Does anyone have a list to use so I would know exactly what to do , step by step??
I only own 1 pistol (.22 S & W model 422) and I have only field stripped that and lightly cleaned. I don't want to do something stupid and damage this Norinco 9mm, or worse, make it unsafe unknowingly.
Even a youtube link or an online video would be helpful. Including materials, procedures, maybe getting new grips or better yet how to make them. I don't have a local gunsmith to rely on, so I'm more or less on my own.
On another topic, does anyone have any idea roughly how many of these CANAM actually imported or brought in?? Seems an awful LOT of people have bought some already, just wondering how close they are to running out. I have friends that I haven't told yet, and I am sure they will want to buy one.

Mine has been "Processed" for about a week now, but still nothing! :(

I do have 3 extra mags here waiting for it already, got them today from Lever Arms. They are the long ones, with the internal spacer, so I'll have to pull out the spacer in the gun’s mag well. Maybe I'll modify the original mag to fit, or just sell it and buy another long one, we'll see. And boy, are these mags rough?!!! I loaded one to try it, and with every round I inserted, I could see skin being scraped off my thumb. So I filed its upper edges all around, now they feel much better.

One funny thing about my mags: they were advertised on "special" :jerkit: at $15 ea. but the ones I got had price stickers marked $9.95! Also, I was charged $12.00 for shipping, but the box only had a $10.56 stamp on it.

Ah, the extra is a "handling" fee, where by you pay money to be "handled". Was it good for you?:D

Got the email yesterday telling me mine had been "processed". This is progress, and a good thing. Can anyone offer any insight on what the next stage is? I'd call CanAm and ask, except he's been asked this question 87 million times already, and every time he stops to answer the phone, everyone's deliveries get pushed back another minute. I don't want to bug the guy, as I know he's already going flat-out, but what happens next?

You will get an e-mail with a tracking number saying order has been shipped on there web site it will say order completed.

I believe this was in reference to him getting extra magazines from Lever Arms shipped, not the pistol CanAm is offering.

That is correct, for the mags only. I guess the extra $1.44 was for the little box the mags came in. I was charged $20.00 shipping for the gun, just like everybody else who ordered once they were in stock. That's pretty good, if you asked me.

I can't wait now... I was being very patient, but now that I got the mags, my patience went haywire
