My 1945 Tokarev T33 didn't come with a safety, so I decided to remove the safety from my Norinco 54. :eek: On the Norinco it would flap around and sometimes interrupt my shooting in the middle of a 8 shot clip of 7.62. It was not hard to get the safety parts out during a detail strip, but it leaves an ugly group of holes there. Like I said, this safety wasn't part of the original Tok design and they way I shoot - finger outside the trigger guard and hammer uncocked until my sights are on target - there is 0.01% chance of an accidential firing caused by not having the Norc safety.

I would prefer that it didn't have a safety but don't think I will be removing it.
 
Yahoo!! Just got mine delivered to the door. Ordered Jan 18, came Mar 13. I know some people complained about delivery time, but cmon, its a 99 dollar pistol. I am just glad I got one. If it was 500-1000......well thats different. I am just glad Canammo brought these in at such reasonable prices. Hats off to you guys.
Mine is in great shape, dripping with oil. Can't wait to go out in my shop tonight and "get at er"
Hopefully range shooting tomorrow, If its not too goddamned cold. -35 C today here in no mans land
 
CTS wants to take the grips off.

They are held on by tabs that get turned to release them. The first one is turned by turning the tab leg just inside the mag well opening. Here is a picture of it. Once that one is off, you can see the other tab from the open side.

Anyone else had trouble getting the barrel out of the slide, as depicted in the TT field stripping instructions posted about a hunnert pages back? Mine seems to hang up and not want to go that way.

Hello, guys. I have to admit that I am not a Canadian, I live in the United States. One of your members gave me a link to your site. I saw someone asking about the reliability and expected life of the pistol, so I thought I'd tell you of my experience with the Norc 213.
I bought 2 Norinco 213's in 1992 for $89 US each. I put one in the safe and just shot the other one. I ran through a box or two of 9mm through it every week. At a conservative estimate I had over 55,000 rounds through the pistol. It was my most accurate and reliable pistol, never had a FTF or FTE. I just bought a Romanian TT-33 so I had 3 Toks. I recently gave the one I'd been shooting to my brother (he has been pestering me for years for it) and have brought out the safe queen.
I was able to get the the 7.62 barrel and bushing from the Romanian on the Norc, and could cycle it with 7.62 ammo. It took me a while, it needed some manipulating. I didn't try to shoot it. I had to take out the mag well spacer, and I had to pull the 7.62 mag to get the unfired cartridge out of the pistol.
The 9mm barrel and bushing easily fit on the Romanian. I had some spare 9mm barrels so I followed Clark's advice and reamed one out to take the 9x23 Winchester. It works perfectly. Now I have .357 Magnum power in an easily concealable semi-auto.
These are great pistols, and very much my favorite.
Incidentally, I had forgotten how stiff the slide was. I couldn't pull the slide without thumbing the hammer. That smoothed out on the first one I had.
