Also, the guns do not say Norinco or Made in China. Just a serial number and laser markings for the UN BS. (CN 08 CA)

They are nicer than I expected.

I was just wondering if anyone else has a new 213 with markings other than just the UN laser stamp ? Mine has the CN 08 CA lasered on the right side and:

MODEL 213 9 X 19 mm
MADE IN CHINA BY NORINCO

stamped on the left. There is also a triangle with the number 66 inside stamped on the left side.

I know that this has been covered before but hopping around through the post I havent found it. What were people using to clean the oil off their newly arrived M213?

I used the same procedure as if I just came back from the range: rub everything with powder solvant, wipe off, oil moving parts.

Well my cherry flavored chunky fruit bars showed up today. Just taking apart and cleaning at the moment. First impressions are very good. Looks way better then I thought it was going too. A little rough inside but for $99 I love it so far. Cant wait to get to the range now.

The way it was meant to be cleaned using Gasoline and a match :D. <---- this is a joke, ok!

I just rubbed it down with a rag, covered it in lots of oil then put it in a plastic container, left it to sit overnight, then rubbed it down again with a rag. I then used a grease type gun lubricant on the rails. Got couple hundred rounds down range on it, works like a charm.

My other ones will likely get the paint thinner treatment then oiled.

There's a mixture out on the 'net called Ed's Red. It's a soup of;

1/3 acetone (or lacquer thinner which is mostly acetone),
1/3 mineral spirits (Varsol cleaning solvent or low odor paint thinner for oil house paint)
1/3 red automatic transimission fluid.

I made some up a while back and it does a fantastic job of cutting through powder residue and will also melt through packing oils and greases like a hot knife through butter. And best of all thanks to the ATF content it'll leave a light protective oil film in its wake. I'll be making up a tub of it for my eventual (hopefully) arrival of my own two "grease spots". Oh, and avoid using this mix on wood, rubber or plastics. It'll be hard on the finish or in the case of rubber and plastics may well melt them.

Use the Ed's Red outdoors or in well ventilated areas or only in very small quantities dabbed on a rag or cleaning patch. It's not only very flammable but it stinks to high hell of solvent. It may mean shooting and good times to us gun nutz but it won't find favour with the other half... nor, for that matter, do you want to live in the house after using a lot of it.

Here is my M213, the grips were sprayed with rhino lining to keep them from cracking, and even if they do crack, it will keep them from falling apart. I have a few more things planned for it, DuraBake paint being one of them.

Well mine arrived this past monday. Some file work looks like it will be a great little pistol.
Proably take it to the range on sunday if i get the chance. So can i get extra mags or should I have ordered two? Pm me if you can.

As has been mentionned, this pistol offers a perfect basis to learn some basic gunsmithing skills, and make some significant improvements to a very cheap pistol.

I'm not the guy, nor do I possess the ability to become him, but I see the opportunity for someone to run paid clinics teaching owners how to improve it, like done with the Norinco M305.
