He's a newbie, and has probably never seen a Norinco, let alone shot one.
Or maybe he's a 1911 high ended, that is embarassed about being outshot be a Norc.
Either way, he knows not of what he is talking about.:)
 
May I address the Chinese quality statement? I don't yet own a Norinco, I own SAM's, but The Great Wall may not be pretty either, but the Chinese built it to last. They may not always be aesthetically pleasing, although these seem to be, but Norincos seem to be built to last.

I wouldn't have any .45s if not for CanAm's Norincos and their combo deals. They're cheap enough for impulse buying.
 
Well I want to say my piece then. So here it goes. norinco t97 is absolutely hideous it's ugly and it's a weird configuration , I have shot it, and I liked it, it's something that I could shoot all day long. it is not user friendly. (THISI S MY OPINION) but I have shot it and it was a nice gun to shoot. as for there other stuff yup pretty plain , unpolished un finished not refined. But guess what, they use the exact same method's as the American or European manufacturers same machines, same processes, but it's the finishing hand skills that are lacking but if you look at these here

You can see that the cheap norc's that we get are not all they have to offer. And in addition to that I have a friend who swears buy them as a well seasoned gun vet he would buy a norinco and dump 700 buck's into it any day of the week and say's it will shoot lights out of any 2000$ 1911 made in the usa today , why? because the metal in the norinco 1911 is extremely tough and very high quality steel. So if you buy a 350$ norinco you are getting the best platform to start from wich is a sold high quality metal. the rest can be fixed or moded up. I own 2 norinco's . I put almost 350 rounds through the one before it was to gummed up to continually shoot with out stove piping or jamming. cleaned it ....sound as a pound baby! so let's leave the norinco Chinese made stuff alone. enjoy the cheap pricing because it is a solid platform to start from. click on that link and look at the mustang, the hi capacity mustang and the others there you can see just how good norinco can be. we get there low end stuff because we want cheap cheap round eye want cheap! so we give round eye cheap. now round I mad mad and say we no good you want good you pay good money. please have a look through the norinco stuff on that site I linked to and you will see. I have asked canam to bing in the mustang hi cap 1911 ..to shut all the glock owners up who complain about only 8 rounds well now there is 15 rounds of .45 acp coming down the pipe and for that reason I would stick with the 1911, but I still like and respect the glock it is also and extremely reliable well made pistol as well. but stop bashing the norinco stuff it may be ugly , or not user friendly , fit n finish may be rough , but you are getting a great solid base model to build from. norinco is quality material , everything else can be fixed.
 
I find that it's best to ignore the little people who have no interest in buying this piece, and nothing to offer to those who will, but crave being heard, and of course acknowledged.
 
As I mentioned before (post 246 in this string) I have absolutely no problem with the fit and finish of any of my Norincos. I cannot count the number of firearms I have owned over the last 40 years and I can honestly say that my Norincos are right up there with the other name brand firearms. When I go to the range, I always throw my Norinco AR in the car because I enjoy shooting it so much. I have two Norinco 1911s and the chromed model I just ordered will make three. If they are as crappy as some would make them out to be, I would not have wasted the money I have spent. I can appreciate a well-built, reliable firearm at face value - I am not a brand snob.
 
@mensa man, I agree, although I think the fit and finish is just not there that is just a lack of human skill on the manufacturing end and you are going to get that when you produce a 350$ gun for the masses. I am in no way criticizing it. if you read my post above , I am saying the norinco brand of fire arms is an excellent platform as the y use extremely high quality steel. And that is imaprative to having a solid gun the rest can be worked out. I have 2 norinco's myself love them both. I agree with the brand snob thing though. take your chrome .45 and put 700$ into it and it will shoot the lights out of ANY 2000$ American made .45 GUARENTEED!! I have a soft spot for norinco because they were my first purchases of a pistol. click on the link I posted up above and look at the high end norinco stuff amazing and beautifull as well.
