WOW!! Solothurn for sale!

The site is down right now, but the Anti-Tank rifle forum,
http://www.obscure-reference.com/cgi-bin/atr.cgi
occasionally has posts about Lahti's and Solothurns.
Because of the GCA of 1968, no Destructive Devices (over 50 calibre) have been imported into the USA since then.
So the ones that where in prior to 68 are REALLY pricey.
A Lahti L39 would be around $10 to $12,000, and I saw a mention of a Solothurn S18-1000 at US$25,000!

BTW, me firing a Lahti at an event on Oregon.

Well in a world of 5K$ 50 cals, one of the most beautiful big guns ever has got to rate more. Judging by the condition and rarity in Canada one would have to imagine that price as a collectors piece is gonna be fair. Frankly 15K is over my limit, I'll say this much though, if it were under 10K I would be calling him, and booking a plane ticket to Alberta :(

Take a look ay the workmanship that went into that gun. I think 15k would be a bargain. Beautifully made.

An awesome firearm....

i have one round of 20 x 138B in my cartridge collection. I paid $30 for it and that was probably a good price.

I wish modern sporting arms were as nicely finished.

One of these rifles features prominently in the novel Unintended Consequences.
